Penelope looked at the party with a bit of longing and wonder. She'd never really been to a formal party. What did they drink water? Champagne, Wine? She wanted to know and was about to suggest that they go take a look when the young woman named Gabrielle stated that she wanted to go find her mother. Penelope could sympathize with that but what was the rush? Well apparently there was one because the blonde girl pulled the pink haired one (who were they now?) and Cliona into the hedge maze. Penelope was about to go the opposite direction until Cliona grabbed her sleeve to drag Penelope along. "H-hey I was-" Penelope sighed deeply. 'Oh well she could always come back later' Penelope thought looking back one last time at the party and the beautiful flowers before they transitioned into thick hedges. Was she regretting this? Just a little?

((You guys don't have to stay together in a group, you are welcome to explore by yourself or break off into smaller groups. uvu ))
EVERYONE Through the hedge next to the party there was a small clearing. It was a continuation of the gardens with different season flowers, the sound of classical music, chattering, and clinking of wine glasses could still be heard through the hedges. While the garden they came from was all reds and deep vivid hues, these were all blues and greys, with no warm string lights to welcome them. There was a small pond to the left with little lily pads on it but the night made the water dark like wine. With a white wooden gazebo in the center, there was a more quiet, eerie feel in contrast to the previous area. This area was enclosed by more hedges with an exit on either side, like a private little room.
In the middle, right on the steps of the gazebo, there was two men that looked like security guards in blue uniform. They each had a flashlight and were quietly talking to each other before they noticed the newcomers, waking out from the hedge. One the security pointed them out to the other with his flashlight.
"Excuse me, this is a private area. You are not suppose to be here, kids." He said, walking a few steps towards them. He scanned each of their faces with his flashlight. "What kind of costumes are thoses suppose to be. Teenagers..." The guard murmured to the other one before raising his voice again.
"The party is back that way. Are you lost?"

"Ah, hold on! It's still early. There's no need to rush." Harvey scrambled to follow as Gabrielle already started dragging people around; several members of the group looked indecisive as to where to go. Personally, Harvey would've liked to check out the party, seeing as he hardly believed the rumors anyway and that a gathering of actual living people was the last thing he'd expected to encounter, but currently he was more preoccupied by trying to keep the group together now that they had one. Of course, that was easier said than done, considering that there was already an unexpected variable this early in the night.
The hadn't gotten far from the party when they came across two guards, who seemed to be involved with the party. They didn't look very friendly, but hey, they were all the way out here while all the fun was going on at the other side of the garden. Harvey shrugged, wondering if Gabrielle would just plow on past them. "Not really. We just wanted to look around the rest of the gardens a bit," he said vaguely. Why were they directing a bunch of "kids" towards a corporate event, anyway? Eh, it was probably just a little get-together for employees and their families. Just in case, Harvey squinted in the dark to check for threads on the guards.

Finally lights came back into sight. The new area was just amazing, even with the complete different tone. No too loud of colors. It was nice.
Stopping way too soon within this pathway, her head poked from behind Gabrielle. In a way, the pause from the groups adventure irritated the Irish woman this only left one thing to do even if it was for just a short time. Being treated like children with the question of being lost, struck a deeper nerve. Eilis plainly ignored the guards, walking towards the shimmering waters. A bit too dark to actually trust standing too close said a little voice in her head. Her head turned to looked back towards the group at the beauty surrounding them, though the unearthly sensation seemed to continue to linger. A small green thing hopped from location to location. "Frog..." It hadn't had found it's winter home yet. Poor thing. It continued until going past the men in blue then under the gazebo.
The woman slumped over bored from the so-far outcome of where her curiosity brought her. She heading back to where every one was, popping her mouth towards one of the men. "If it was a private area, wouldn't there had been signs or some kind of fancy rope to block off the path?" Her hand went to her hip as if holding herself up until she saw two exits. This instantly spiked her interest again... In her head, she pointed towards one of the paths, in which she wanted to go. Though the woman wasn't the age of a child, her curiosity sure was much like one... or more as a cat.

Penelope had taken the moment Elis had released her grasp on her arm to stuff her hands in the pockets of her hoodie. Penelope wasn't a damn dog.
The fall New York air pushed against her face bringing with it a pleasant flowery smell. The area they'd just walked into was beautiful in its own way, despite being kinda eerie, that made her look around with intense fascination. The lake was gorgeous, the wine coloured water played off the grey flowers so well it was like they were made for each other. She was so entranced, that she didn't notice the guards in the gazebo coming towards their group. Penelope tensed slightly, she'd gotten too lax with her defense.
"Officers...?" Penelope's lips tugged downward slightly. Wonderful... obviously the men were here to make sure that guests didn't stray too far from the party. Yet that change her mood one bit. Penelope wrinkled her nose - who were they to tell her what to do huh? "So we're not allowed to go exploring? Why?" Penelope thought about going back to the party but the other part wanted to keep going just from sheer hatred of their uniforms.

Fully surprised by the appearance of officers, Gabrielle let go of her company. Well, this certainly was a nice place, even if a bit spooky, but those policemen made her feel totally safe again. Guards were always nice guys, they got their coffees early in the morning, payed punctually and were very polite to nice young ladies. Since nobody else seemed to want to approach those nice officers, Gabrielle found this the perfect chance to ask them a few questions. Completely disregarding the suspicious tones of Harvey and Cliona, Gabrielle approached the guards in her usual loud manner.
"EXCUUUUUUSE ME, SIRS!" She bounced up and down on her feet and held a hand into the air as if she was in class. "I am actually looking for my mom. She is about this height..." -she held a hand a few centimeters over her head to indicate how tall her mother was- "....has brown hair, brown eyes and ... she might be wearing a white dress, I'm not actually sure what she is wearing, probably something Nice with pearls though." She nodded as if to reassure herself that her description had been accurate, then stared at the officers with expectant eyes. "Did you see her by any chance?"

Once their sleeve was released from the girl's strong grip, Kit took another look around. The scenery had changed, despite the fact that the group really hadn't walked all that far. The colors had shifted from warm colors to cool, hues of blue and gray giving the area a completely different atmosphere. They found the place to be much more calming than the previous area... that was, until they saw the security guards.
Naturally, police officers made them nervous, for some reason even after death. They'd come into contact with them too many times, and under circumstances that... weren't ideal. Although these men weren't police officers, they did give off a similar vibe of forceful authority, putting Kit on edge just as easily. The others seemed to be handling conversation with the two, so Kit just looked away, shoving their hands into the pocket of their hoodie... where their knife happened to be. It wasn't like they planned on attacking the guards or anything, but it made them feel a little more secure and a little less vulnerable to have their fingers wrapped around the cool metal.

EVERYONE Harvey focused to see the thread on the guards. After a moment, he would be able to see blurry thin lines wrapped tightly around them, dancing lightly with their motions. Definitely living human.
One of the guard (the one with a beard) raised an eyebrow at Eilis as she walked to the pond and then back to the group. "There isn't any fancy rope or signs because we are here, girl." He said to her in a slow, firm voice as if he was talking to a child who doesn't quite understand society norms or manners. He signed and shook his head, the man seemed tired already. He looked over to Penelope to answer her question in a softer tone.
"I'm sorry honey, I have kids too and when I was a teenager, I use to hitchhike to get around so I understand. You guys are young and you want to explore. But this is private property. You kids don't just walk into someone's backyard or house without permission right?" He clearly had no idea he was talking to apprentices. "Plus, it's easy to get lost here so it's dangerous. this garden is huge."
When Gabrielle started talking the bearded guard held up a hand as if his hand would be able to slow her talking down. "Whoa whoa whoa. If you are looking for your mom, she is probably waiting for you at the party next door." He said, trying to reassure her. "Actually, I think I seen a woman by that description walking around the gardens...I think..." The other guard finally perked up ad tilted his head upwards as if looking at the sky would help him remember better. This man was younger in comparison to the bearded middle age guard and clean shaven. There was definitely an aura of greenness around him, even though he was taller and fitter than the other guard.

Okay, so they were real live people. Didn't mean they weren't hunters, but it made it less likely, especially with the way they were acting. Still, this was a dangerous place, and letting his guard down could never be a good thing, so Harvey remained tense, as he observed in the others, as well.
...Most of them, at least. Gabrielle's enthusiasm never died down, and she did, in fact, plow on forward in the form of a speedy inquiry as to the whereabouts of her presumably dead mother. Man, if they weren't in a dark, suspicious, possibly hunter-stalked garden of doom at the moment, Harvey'd be hyped to see dead-er people walk too, but this was kind of an unfavorable situation, and there'd been nothing particularly interesting going on so far aside from an out-of-place party they weren't invited to and...some nice "privately-owned" plants, he guessed. Whose genius idea was it to let the ascended show up on private property?
Of course, nothing was more surprising so far than the younger guard's unsure affirmation of the existence of Gabrielle's mother. Or someone who looked like her, which was probably more likely. Was this some sort of trap after all? Still, the sooner they got the more risky parts out of the way, the better; then maybe Harvey could crash the party and nab some free food and drinks or something. Besides, with a party so close by, it might be a bit harder for any hunters to act, in case they draw unnecessary human attention to themselves. "Yeah, well then maybe you could give us directions to where you saw her and let us by for a little while so we could go get her real quick? We won't get lost if you tell us where to go, and then we could head back to the party faster," he offered hopefully.

The bearded prick did it again. A kid... the tone of the gaurds treating her more like a child deepened. What was wrong woth these guys. Did they really want a punch to the face or a knee to the gut? She looked for threads hoping they weren't living humans... yet, to her luck they were still breathing.
Her fist balled, though harming a human wouldn't be wise... he was lucky she tolerated people like him. Words though, word could be said and nothing would come of it. "Stop with the act, you twit... I'm not a child" With a pause she stepped forward beside Garbielle. "and you shouldn't tease an innocent when all they want is to see their family..." The likes of this crude man. Sheesh... "Even if we had been kids, though, you should still treat people in a general sense, with more respect." Sure, she understood the guy and his side of defending children as he has some of his own... but still. The fact was they weren't kids. The men didn't know what they were capable of. Private area... sure... "Whatever..."
With that she turned away, with nothing else to be said, and began towards the way they came through. Despite the Harvey was taking care of things, it just wasnt her style. Close to the point of disappearing, she stopped and looked back towards the group. She didn't want to end up regretting this decision... but no choice was given. Alice had to go deeper into the rabbit hole; the curiousity drove Eilis here, why stop now, that a few guards try to dismiss them? It shouldn't. The woman took in a deep breath. At the point of release, her body rushed forward.
Run through... and wishful thinking to not getting caught by the guards in the process.
---------------- So here's to hoping Eilis can run past the guards and through the passage to the left. Roll of Dex... here we go.

Penelope relaxed as the man explained his rationale to her HOWEVER she was not a child! But, alas, her experience as a Hunter taught her a few things one of them being - "When given a role, play it to the fullest."
Penelope nods at the officer, resigned to not cause trouble. Furthermore a party seemed promising. Penelope had never been to a formal event and she was pretty sure her family was alive and well so she didn't feel the need to go "looking" for them.
Penelope turns to the group. "Alright, I'm heading back to the party anyone else wants to... join... me..." Penelope's words trail off as Eilis speaks about their treatment. Granted she was right but-
'OMG, she just ran in.'
Penelope watches with astonishment as Eilis tries bolting through the guards. What the heck was wrong with apprentices today? Don't they understand the need to blend in? Penelope's astonishment turned to amusement as saw the guards move for her.
'Oh, this was going to be fun.'

Kit continued to quietly listen to the conversation, finding themselves annoyed with the way the guards spoke to the group. "Kids"... it seemed to be used in a more condescending sense rather than just being an honest mistake. The rolled the knife in their pocket in their palms, looking down at the ground while they fidgeted... until Eilis decided to make a run for it. Oh, no.
Off she went, sprinting towards an exit. They found their own legs tensing up in anticipation as well, intending fully to follow her. But first, they paid attention to what would happen next. Would the two guards simply grab her and be done with it, or would she slip by? It was important to see what the guards' intentions were before they tried anything that rash, and Eilis was apparently going to be the one to test the two.

Gabrielle's eyes widened. So her mom might be here! "Can I see her? Sir, can I meet her, can you let me through just for a minute, pretty pleeeeease?" However, she stopped her pleading when she heard Harvey speak. He sounded so much more convincing, so she just nodded and grabbed his sleeve for support, giving the guards her best pleading look. She was really good at that.
Suddenly she felt a rush of wind pass her by. As Harvey still tried to reason with the guards, Cliona seemed to have made her move. Gabrielle lost no time, hollered and ran after her. If necessary she would support her at her breakthrough. There were just two guards but five of them, if the others helped, some were bound to make it.

((Sorry for the delay you guys! ;v; I was at a convention for most of the week and I didn't get a chance to settle down till now. ))
EVERYONE The younger guard furrowed his brows at Harvey in slight confusion when he asked about where he saw Gabrielle's mom. "Well...she walked into the party." He said, pointing over to where the music was still coming from. "Where else would she go, who would just wander in the forest at night? There isn't even lights in there. I mean...you didn't come with your mom-?" He was interrupted when Ellis tried to run pass them.
The older bearded guard was looking at Eilis with a dull look in his eyes. Her speech was definitely one he heard before from his own children and when she tried to run pass him, he wasn't very surprised either. He had a five year old. It seemed like kids do from the moment they learn how to walk is try to run away. He sighed and moved to catch her. However, being an older gentleman, his agility isn't what it use to be.

But Eilis didn't seem to be running very fast or maybe the older guard still had a bit of pep in his step. He grabbed Eilis almost in a swift motion and set her down in front of him. "Excuse me, miss. Perhaps you didn't hear me but you can NOT go any further. This is a warning. If you pull another stunt like that, I'm calling the police AND your parents." He said in a stern voice.

(( Hahah Oh god, really Minty, comparing her to a five year old. xD Aren't you just nice. So when you say convention you mean like.... you cosplayyyyyyyyyyyed too? or no. )) Not really running as fast as she wanted, maybe she wasn't trying hard enough or it could have been just all the spaghetti she had earlier, her run for freedom came to a swift halt. Her eyes opened just as the guard got in front of her to only pick her up and sweep her back around. Eilis stole a quick glance as if throwing daggers that very second. "You big gorilla...." The woman huffed as her feet touched the ground once more and then quickly let go. Stepping forward with a little skip away from the guard, a kick of the moist dirt hoisted away. Pulling her sweater down... Screw these guards. Fixing the strands of hair that had come loose... Screw those private but open passageways. Making sure everything was in place, nothing missing, then slinging her bag around to flatten against her back... Screw that frog she saw earlier. Cracking her neck and knuckles...Just screw everything. Over her shoulder, her eyes caught sight of the two pathways... then the two guards once more. The curiosity of the pathways continued to eat away at her but the guards were determined to have their way. Not even caring that he wasn't through talking to her, she slowly paced forward to stop beside Kit. His stern voice. The man's beard... The blue getup... Everything about this place just seemed like a loud and pathetically annoying mess. The voice wouldn't stop... Police? Yeah, whatever... What could they really do? Wait... Quickly body twisting to look at the old man, and his serious face... With a thick Irish accent, which is normally covered up, words just escaped. "M-my parents?" Just like that everything just soothed her. Light snickers had began... Eilis wasn't angry anymore, though he had still treated her like a child. Even if the rumor of seeing departed family was possible, this time of year. His words... were just priceless. Too much, even. The woman busted out in hysterical laughter. "You can keep your damn private area." The exit back towards the party was the way to go... "I'm heading back... I had enough playtime with these imbeciles." Some food sounded nice. Oh! And a drink... All this talking and running left her a little parched. Still chuckling like a mad woman from the guards warning, she left the group to only head back. Whatever they did themselves, didn't matter... Her sights were now set on some refreshments.
