UGH. Why do people with no sense of direction enter mazes to begin with? Walter had almost toppled over from her sudden grab to his leg and though normally he wouldn't hesitate to help her out himself he simply did not have the time for it tonight. His best friend might be dying.
“I can walk with you to the next fork in the road. The way I came from is a dead end anyway so I have to get to at least the end of this path before I can get anywhere.” He looked down at her big watery eyes, although what she'd see was simply a pair of shaded eyes that might be blue surrounded by a dirty sheet.

Bluebird. Who was that, Maxwell wondered? No one he knew. Surely he would remember if he had ever met someone with such...petty blue gold hair. "Ah, but isn't that just the fate of Blue birds?" he sang, stifling his own bemused cackles to a low and bumbling chuckle behind a pursed smile. Then drew his hands from his back to wave in turn to the grinning man. A quick and wistful gesture akin to an giddy little child.
"Helloooo!" He widened his grin to match the bowlers toothy smile, almost mockingly. Head cocked to the side as if to peek around Stanley and the on going 'battle'. "We've heard quite a lot about you tonight!", the Rainbow Hatter chimed with underlying giggles. "You're absolutely FAMOUS! Goodness, a Halloween Celebrity, what fun! To think I forgot my autograph book.You simply MUST come to my tea party tonight--When you’re done playing, of course." The Hatters smile stretched and split wide open with a Mad little laugh.
Rocking on his heels patiently, in no hurry to intrude on Mask Man's....revenge. Maxwell was content just to chew his gum and snap little bubbles and make conversation on the side.....Whether it was a time for conversation or not. "Though you have to play nice. No room for Party poopers...or Race wreckers. No room AT ALL. You'll have to be punished if you cant behave--clearly you've been very naughty as it is. Tsk tsk!"

WALTER :
“Dead…end…?” The little girl looks up at you with a confused expression, shifting her gaze to peer behind you to inspect if this is true. “DEAD ENDDDDDD. NOOOOOOOOOoooooooOOO...” She shrieks in echo, gripping tighter onto your leg than ever. She then turns her gaze in the opposite direction to inspect the path that you mentioned. She frowns at the path, squinting in concentration as she decides to propose an idea.
“How about…here…?” She gestures with her head to the hole in the hedge that she had tumbled out of, chewing shakily on her lower lip. “I swear, I SWEAR I was ALMOST out, but I think…I took a wrong turn somewhere… I KNOW it’s the right path! Cuz I left clues! I left clues so I’d know where I went before!” She looks earnestly and pleadingly up at you, seemingly determined to try to convince you that she’s right, and that the hole in the hedge is definitely the right path to take for the both of you.
As you look at where she is gesturing to, you realise that where there used to be a small, almost unnoticeable hole, there is now a very clear hole in the hedge, after she has tumbled noisily through it. Do you choose to go through this hole with the girl? After all, the hole will lead you closer to where you heard Maxwell’s laughter coming from moments ago. But is this girl’s sense of direction really to be trusted? She is extremely lost, after all. You’re not too sure if you can trust that this is the right way, even though she so insists on it being so...

Walter squatted down next to the hole, peering in. Might be a faster way to get to Maxwell...but this girl was obviously lost so her breadcrumb trail clearly hadn't worked for her, why should it work for him?
There was a frown concealed underneath the costume as he measured up the disastrous wedding cake. He didn't like the look on her face, in fact he didn't like her at all. She reminded him of those pesky London birds that said they'd take you to HQ but left one out in the middle of nowhere because they suddenly grew tired of helping you out. Or dumped you on your face when you got to the exit.
His eyes once again fixed themselves upon the hole in the hedge. He appeared to be thinking very hard. Then he raised his hand, pointing down the road. “Straight all the way down this path until the fork, go right and follow that road – you will find yourself coming out a middle path from where you can see a fountain, go to opposite side of fountain – the exit might be hard to find but is on your left, keep left when you get out on the lit up path and when you get to the end you should be able to see the building at the beginning of the maze....that is the way out.” Directions wasn't hard but he had dumbed it down for her seeing she couldn't even follow her own clues. Tilting his head he awaited her response.

He didn't realise so many wanted to get involved with the living like that. Surely there wasn't anything left for you to fulfill once you were dead, but Owen wasn't one of your regular dead. He had nothing left here. There was little desire to come back to the living world other than to stay updated and bask in parks, really.
"It's dangerous..." He said somewhat timidly. "...cos it's not your business..." His eyes seemed to wander off into a daze. Memories of his time alive came back. He regretted it so much, and he didn't want Lenne's friend to make the same mistake. Not when there were consequences to living that kind of lifestyle. At least she knew what she was seeing. Oh how he wished he had that...
The wail seemed to distract him from really hearing or taking in the vague descriptions she provided, and the crow promptly cawed in reply. A loud one, sudden one, for the bird had been relatively quiet otherwise. In an instant she pulled out a gun, and though unsurprised, Owen found it a little unexpected. He'd been shot at least once, he thought, on various reaps over the years. The times blurred together so he wasn't very sure.
"It's a small person." He answered quite literally. "I think it's a small person. I don't think it's the... the... the B-Bowler Hat," he stumbled over his words trying to remember what they called him.

This was taking too long. The usually patient maid had none when it came to others being harmed or hurt. If she could stop it somehow she would and thus her drive to get to the bunny and double back. There had to be a faster way to get through this maze, she didn't have time to mess with these hedges!

(( @yels: AH, sorry, I didn't make it clear! You will need to use an external site to roll as the forums only allow for 6-sided dice rolls. Click on the roll that is the second from the bottom at this link to roll a 20-sided dice, and add Sienna's WIS Stat to that number. You may amend your post, or post a new one containing just the roll! It is up to you. ^-^ ))

Stanley's turn;
STR roll; 1d20 = 17 + 4 (STR) = 21 DEX roll; 1d20 = 14 + 7 (DEX) = 21
HP: 17
-----
His only response was to break away from the man. Words fell on deaf ears at this point. There was only him and his prey in his vision.
"...'ll kill you." he murmured, holding his weapon as one would a spear. Once more, he launches a flurry of attacks at the man, each strike intending to kill. The lock of hair waved in front of his face with every parrying motion the other Hunter made.
How dare he.
How dare he harm the one person who mattered to Stanley.
Heaven help him if she no longer drew breath.
Stanley swore he wouldn't let the man die without suffering beforehand. Let him bleed. Let him howl. Let him know how he'd hunted the wrong target and he'll pay with his whole afterlife.
With another ugly, animal-like noise, Stanley lunged forwards and aimed to thrust at the other Hunter's shoulder.

WALTER:
The girl listens obediently to you, her wide eyes almost not blinking at all as she nods at your directions, but a look of comprehension soon dawns on her child-like face. "AH. NOoooOOOoooOO nonono I'm not-" She begins to shake her head so fast that you fear her tiny head might fall off her shoulders.
"I'm not looking for the exit."
She FINALLY lets go of your leg, and instead shoots you a confused look. "Why would I be looking for the exit? I'm not looking for the exit. Haven't you heard the rumours?" She stares at you like a childish first-grader, pouting a little, even, as she slowly tries to stand, dusting her multi-layered petticoated dress off. You can see slight rips in her white stockings, and slight dirt smudges all over her cute costume. Guess this hedge…isn't exactly the first one she's tumbled through…
"I'm headed towards the centre of this maze!" She exclaims excitedly, her eyes shining determinedly as she looks up at your sheet-covered eyes. "…because I heard the rumours…" She shuffles her feet and looks a little embarrassed as she continues, "But I…I panicked and ran and got lost…cuz…cuz…" She gets down on the knees and points through the hedge.
"I heard this…weird laughter. From over there," You can see her shudder as she recalls the incident aloud. "It sounded like it came from a child. A…boy…I think. But…it sounded full of…pain. It was SOOOOO SCARYYYYYYY!!!!!" She nearly wails at you as she begins to break off stray twigs through the hole in the hedge that she came from. She seems to want to crawl back through the very hole she created and is taking extra precautions so that her outfit won't be further ruined.
"The moment I heard it, I ran. I ran for my life! It was so close…so so close to me… " she whimpers as she snaps at the twigs in the hedge.
OWEN :
"….y-you're right…" Very reluctantly, Lenne lowers the gun, her breathing heavy and her body tensed up. She slowly puts the gun back in the holster secured to her belt and rubs her temples. Her eyes are closed and her brows are knotted in concentration. "Don't lose it, Lenne. Don't lose it," she chants as if to calm herself down.
"…can you fight, Owen?" She asks suddenly, without turning around to look at you. Her eyes are fixed on the path straight ahead as she speaks. "I mean…if we run into Bowler Hat, what're we going..ta do…?"
She turns around and looks at you with a worried expression. "I don't know if I can protect you, Owen. I hesitated once already tonight…I…I'm not sure if I will…hesitate again. I don't know if ya'll be safe with me…"
She bends down and grips your shoulders. There is a slightly pained expression in her face as she looks into your blank, empty, expressionless features. "…go back, Owen. Go back to wherever ya came from. Don't follow me. This isn't your business…Ya right, it's dangerous, cuz it's not your business...
"...ya don't hafta get involved…with me…"
SIENNA :
Lo and behold, through the thinning hedge, you manage to spot a rather large hole in the brambles. It's large enough for you to definitely see through to the other side. With your small frame, you feel that all you need to do is to snap a few twigs here and there, or cut at a few thin branches with your weapon (if you brought it) and you have a clear path through this hedge!
…but why is there such an easy way through the hedge…? The rest of the hedges you have passed are thick and some are even overgrown…but then there is this…hole. …why? Upon closer inspection of the hole in the hedge, and some twig snapping to make your passage through smoother and less cumbersome, you notice something pink…and white… Should you choose to pick it up, you'd find that it's a piece of cloth. A ribbon, or a strip of fabric.
Huh. Seems like somebody's already crawled through this way in the hedge, eh?
STANLEY & MAXWELL :
"Famouss͘ssS̴SS̴S̀ss̡s̛…" The Man in the Bowler Hat echoes Maxwell as he grins back, grinding his teeth disturbingly against each other with a sickening sound. "Nicee̢e͘e͢eE͡ȨEEee̸ee…Play…N̶I͞C̡ȩeeeEEEEe̵ȩee…" He echoes Maxwell's mad little laugh with a screeching one of his own… These two seem to have a strange way of communicating…
---
Bowler Hat's rolls
STR roll: 6 + 5 STR = 11 DEX roll : 18 + 4 DEX = 22
Stanley's rage seems to excite Mr. Bowler Hat even further as he noisily parries each of Stanley's attacks with mad, raspy laughter. As Stanley sends a powerful thrust to his shoulder, the Man in the Bowler Hat's scythe makes a powerful swing while he side-steps the attack. An especially loud clang of metal on metal is heard once more as the shovel thrusts just barely past his shoulder--a very narrow miss indeed!
"You're...Angryy̵yyyYY̛Y͘y͏yy͡…" he leers at you, teasing you with that electric-blue and honey-gold lock of hair as he brings it to his hooked nose for a long, tender sniff. "Is͠ sh̡e ͝yo͏ur̨ssss̵s̶? Heh...hehehh́e̸h̢eh̀e̷heheh͞e̸h̸ehe͞he͟... EEEY̵A͠AAHH͢A̡HAHA͘A͜H̵AH͏!!̨!" He attempts to swing his weapon down at your back after he has successfully avoided being struck by you…
"Is̨ ̡she͝ yơu͞rss̵s?" He cackles in repetition. "N̢ot͘ ͜a͞n͞ym̛o͘r҉e͞…"
STR roll: 5 + 5 STR = 10 DEX roll : 20 + 4 DEX = 24

When she asked, Owen kept quiet. He could, a little bit, from what he'd learned from Inkidortes. But in comparison to many others at HQ he was incredibly unskilled.
"I'll protect you," he looked and pointed at her. "It's not your business. It's my business." He then pointed back at himself. "Dead business is for the dead." Owen insisted. "You shouldn't be involved in dead busines." I know, he thought. "You shouldn't be involved..." He looked at her, his eyes a little more stern than they were before. "You shouldn't be involved..." He seemed to chant in whispers, insisting again and again with a shake of his head.

Maxwell's smile twitched at it's corners, returning the screech with a low bubbly chuckle. "Oh, my, oh deary me. This isn't how we play nice, Mister Bowl Man." He knew he wasn't being paid any mind, but that was just fine. Maxwell was not a warrior like the crazed Bowl Man or the Furious Mister Mask. Oh now, he played these games a different way.
This crazed grinning fellow--Maxwell liked him. He was entertaining! Though he was also VERY naughty. Scaring was all good and well for Halloween, but clearly there was more at play. Poor little blue bird, wings clipped all too soon. More over, disrupting a race! And intervening on general Happy good feels Candy time? On, no, this wouldn't do. not in the least. the man was being a waste of precious Trick or Treating and pathfinder challenges.
While it was his place to sit such things out, the temptation to aide Mister Mask was growing. And the HATTER wanted his piece of the cake at play. Clamping down on his gum, Maxwell stuffed his hand into his pocket and palmed the colorful toy laden inside. Mindfully setting his candy filled top hat to the side, out of the danger of combat, the hat-less Hatter waited and watched for the right moment to strike.
When Bowl Man made his move against Stanley, Maxwell slipped in, darting into close quarters between rose hedge and Man. Aiming to slip by while Bowl Man was distracted and take his stance behind the crazed fellow. Only then would he draw his toy... --- DEX roll to pass: 3 + 6[dex] = 9
((MAXWELL.......WHAT ARE YOU DOING, YOU FLOOZY. PUT YOUR HAT BACK ON.))

Sienna spotted a hole in the thinning bushes. Perfect. It was just wide enough to go through. At least it had been a good idea. As she moved through the branches, shoving them aside and stamping on others she spotted a shock of pink and white. She bent down to grab it finding it was a small soft cloth. Someone must've lost it. Always looking out for random strangers she folded it neatly after shaking debris off ans placed it in he pocket as she continued on taking short cut out of the hedge.
Hopefully Maxwell was staying out trouble but she doubted it entirely. Bunny was her priority though and once she had him she could go back and try to help.

The girl finally let go of him but left Water was mighty confused. What kind of lost person is not looking for an exit? A Rumour? Oh yes he had heard something about meeting the dead...but he saw dead people every day so why would this be so special? Now that he looked at her properly...she was one of them.
He more or less ignored her, she was just rambling on and straightening out her dress anyhow. Why bother it's already ruined. Her words completely was the most uninteresting tale until she mentioned the crazy laughter. MAXWELL. Walter was practically jumping on her and grabbed on to her shoulders, voice shrill with panic. “THAT'S MY FRIEND!! WHERE WAS THIS? I NEED TO GET THERE NOW!!”

Defending turn;
STR = 16 + 4 = 20 DEX = 7 + 7 = 14
-----
The parry let loose a screech from both their weapons as Stanley felt the force of the Hunter’s defense push his shovel away. Of course that would be too obvious… What the man did next was inexcusable, though. His breathing slowed as he paused for the briefest of moments when he was taunted. How dare he.
How dArE H E
H OW DA RE H E.
Letting out a pained noise, Stan took a step back and swiped his shovel in a wide arc, as if in a defiant motion. (Not realizing that he had smacked Maxwell across the chest with the back of his arm and knocked the poor Hatter over) He couldn't save her. He couldn't help her.
His friend.
His only friend.
The next moments saw him parrying the larger man's heavy blows, a symphony of dancing metal ripping through the air. Both men barely budged as they exchanged blow after blow, and every time... Stanley would cast his gaze to the oddly-colored lock of hair in the enemy's hand.
"Z...el..." he croaked, knocking the scythe away from him before swiftly bringing the shovel down in an overhead slash with an anguished cry, aiming for the taller man's head, or shoulders.
-----
Attacking turn;
STR = 13 + 4 = 17 DEX = 18 + 7 = 25

Too eager. Too blind. Maxwell ran right into Stanley's swing.
The hat-less Hatter stumbled away with a gasp, the breath knock clean from his lungs. How was barging in like a bulldog a good idea again? Maxwell lay sprawled on his back as he considered this, struggling to bite out a laugh.
Oh yeah...it wasn't....
Sienna was going to be mad at him later.
