And there his suitcase went, straight up onto his new bed. Diana did not look happy. Neither did Walter. He had been looking forward to the challenge of getting the heavy case up the ladder by himself. So much for that.
"Tidy old?" Walter repeated, puzzled by the remark and staring blankly back at Owen. "I am tidy when I draw maps, because other apprentices are supposed to be able to read them. Though the office doesn't like all the colours of some reason..." He glanced around at the others, noting that Owen didn't seem interested in Diana at all. Maybe that was because she looked unhappy with everything, even the room that had a window into space.
...stuck a bunch of older folk in a futuristic room...
A light went on in his head as he made the connection. "Oh! I'm 11, but I have worked here since..uhh...before World War Two, however it was after The Great War. I don't remember the date, but I used to go to the pictures when they were playing my favourites; Felix the cat and Oswald the Lucky rabbit." He smiled at Owen as if the baseball cap with the face of said rabbit and the one size too big sweater with the 20s cartoon cat with arms spread wide and his name in big letters didn't make that obvious enough.

“Hmm maybe. But we only have so much room in here though.” Diana severely doubted they would let her get away expanding a wall for a personal bathroom. It would be nice to not have to wear shower shoes every time she bathed but hey, what could she do? In all honesty she didn’t really want to change too much about the room, at least not with much of furniture from her era. They’d be better off with things from the 60’s and 70's, it had curvier couches and beanbags. The only thing that bothered her more than anything was the damn window. How do they make it a normal view and how on Earth was it viewing space? She didn't care that much to ask in all honesty. The room was comfortable and that's what mattered the most.
Diana tried to avoid asking about Walter’s backstory when a larger part of it was visible, plain as day, the fact that he died as a child. Instead she opted to add onto the subject of cartoons. "That's nice, I happened to be a fan of Betty Boop and some Looney Tunes back in the day." the corner of her lips curved ever so slightly into a reminiscent smile and if anyone had blinked they would have missed it. She couldn't help but think of some years ago where her hair was growing back after trying out a new hairstyle and for Halloween, back when she wasn't too much of a grumpy person to still celebrate holidays, she dressed the Jazz Age flapper. Of course she snuck out of HQ and did this, and into some random person's house party just to feel like she wasn't out of place for once. Diana made sure to keep a mental note of Walter's favorite thing though she was sure it wouldn't be to hard to forget. He probably had Felix paraphernalia out the wazoo.
