Morning. Sienna certainly enjoyed those early moments of the day, when things were still and reverent. And she enjoyed them just as much now. Except today she was working outside of her usual job. While she wasn't a waitress much nowadays she had waited on her masters while she lived. But then she'd been required to keep silent, something she was used to. But here she was expected to speak, chat and engage her customers. Which was bout the equivalent of asking a sumo wrestler to pirouette.
But this was what she'd signed up for. She couldn't be this, cowardly sissy face the rest of her... existence. And after researching numerous methods she found the one that might be the most efficient was the more drastic sort. And while this might not have been completely of that kind it was close enough. Forcing her, the reclusive maid, the one people weren't even sure existed out into the fast paced world of a cafe maid.
She was clutching her tray close to her chest she peered out and over it at the unused tables. No one there yet but soon. Soon she would have to converse... with strangers. But hopefully a few familiar ones showed up. Nice ones. Ones that didn't want to end her preferably.

Clink-clank went the dishes and the kitchen utensils as the cafe chefs worked on the morning menu.
It was barely past opening time, and Apprentices, mostly volunteers for the carnival event, were loitering around in the quiet morning, looking at props and empty booths which would later become the day's events. Amsteria stood at the entrance of Frantasia Cafe, a somber look on her face. She was not very amused by her own decision to wear a maid dress...but here she was. With a frozen exterior of seriousness she kicks herself inside.
Tugging at the issued maid apron, with it's little gold f, she turns around and walks into the cafe. Perhaps this early she could warm herself up to the outfit, and the peopl...Apprentices that she would be sharing the shift with. It was quiet, save for the sounds of the kitchen at work, and she takes slow, deliberate steps to get into a 'dainty' set of pace from her usual...stiff walk. As she raises her arms slightly to make a small twirl, at an attempt to seem 'cheery', she spots a lone figure looking over the tables with a tray clutched to her chest.
Amsteria loses her balance from the distraction and teeters, stomping her right foot to barely save herself from falling over. She crouches behind a table as she regains her composure, hoping the other maid had not seen her silly little spin.

Joakim hadn't planned on going early, but since he had problems with his outfit and got up early to straighten it out (trying to wear cuff links didn't work out, so he opted to roll his sleeves up instead), he really wasn't tired enough to go back to sleep.
So he wound up heading off towards the carnival in the living world instead. He was supposed to be helping out at the Frantasia over the breakfast and lunch shift, if only because he had nothing planned for himself. Running a leatherworks stall crossed his mind, but considering how uninteresting it would be (not to mention how few people would buy his wares), Joakim decided against it.
Walking up to the cafe earned him the sight of Amsteria losing her balance and barely able to catch herself. That... was an unexpected sight. He strode over to her, "You alright?" it didn't look like she hurt herself, at least.
So far, the only other person in the cafe that he knew of was Sienna, and if Amsteria needed medical attention, she may well be the first aid booth's very first customer today.

Terribly early as it may seem, Grim had already lost the sense of time by being up for far too long. The only thing that told him it was morning was the bright sunlight filtering in through the windows and doors of the booths at the country fair. Curses on his overly enthusiastic past self whom had signed up for the Frantasia Cafe shift...
It was not a fun thing to be up this early. 8 A.M. says his phone. If he was going to be serving the cafe at a later time, he might as well be on the receiving end as well. Popping on a cap, the german stepped in the almost empty cafe with a casual raglan tee and jeans. He glanced around the empty tables, but still politely stood at the entrance. Did he need to queue when there's virtually no other customers yet? There were very few maids and butlers out in the open, and they didn't seem to notice (nor expect) a customer such as himself to be here precisely at 8 in the morning. Nevertheless, he was here for his dose of caffeine.
"Can I get a seat where I can smoke?" He inquired, his blurry gaze darting around for anyone who would attend to him.

[ JayThorne | Joakim ] Amsteria gaze snapped onto the person that called out to her, and was half-relieved that it was just Joakim. She was still embarassed that someone had witnessed her stumble, but hopefully he did not see her twirl in a maid dress. "No, I'm fine," Amsteria answered curtly, feeling her cheeks warm ever so slightly from being seen. She gets up and dusts her outfit down, checking the skirt in case her mad save for balance had damaged it. Joakim seems to have managed to dress himself up proper as well. "How many shifts are you doing?" she asked. It was light talk, something to dispel whatever awkward silence that could ensue. Before she could hear his answer, a voice calls from the entrance. The cafe was barely open, and someone was here already? Raising a brow at Joakim, she takes a tray from the counter and wanders off to the entrance. A general smoking area would logically be outdoors, but nearer to a window? She guessed so as she comes up to the patron. "Yes, it would be...oh," Amsteria ends her sentence halfway, "Grim, you're really early," she continued instead with a slightly raised brow. After a moment of pause (awkwardly), she holds an arm out and gestures him to follow her to a table near the windows. "Lots of ventilation," she remarked.

Sienna was surprised to see Amsteria falling? Had she tripped? Was she okay? Well she hadn't hit the ground but she'd harmed herself somehow. Clutching her tray she was tempted to go over and make sure she was alright. But Joakim did it for her, allowing her to stay where she was. Another figure came in. A customer though she recognized the person being from the other two's team and thus she refrained from going to him, assuming his teammates would be much more preferable over herself.
And so she continued to stand there a moment awkwardly before realizing she should be doing something and wandered to a nearby table to obsessively reset the table so it was more polished looking. And once she finished there she'd move to the next one and so on. She was fine being the awkwardly silent addition to the trio here for the meantime. She was kind of used to that really.
