Goodness, I still can't believe I'm doing this--well it's worth a shot. So! Like the title suggests, do any of you have a favorite flower? The Radio's theme announcement gave me the idea and instead of talking about what flowers mean to us or why or what have you, why not just talk about how wonderful they are? There are so many in different colors and sizes! Shapes! Dios mio, even in names and meanings too! Ah..ok ok. Lo siento, I, ah, got a little carried away there. So let us get the ball rolling, as they say, and I'll try to get started? Yes? A very recent favorite of mine, the Bayahibe Rose. It's native to my past life's county. Very fragrant and beautiful, yet sadly just about Critically Endangered right now. It used to be abundant before but as of late it's been blooming rarer and rarer these years, but at least scientists have taken notice of the sudden trend. I suppose growing on mostly cacti wouldn't be the most ideal setting for a cute little flower, but what are you going to do. That's life, can't choose where you grow or how your legacy will carry on. Do any of you have a favorite flower? It's okay to have more than one, that's why there's not just one type of human.

What a nifty flower! I like the idea of sharing flowers, although often times they make me think of...funerals. Anyways, I think one of my favorites are Magnolias, they're absolutely keen! They smell so sweet, and they grew where my brother used to live, so they remind me of him...And make me melancholy in the process. I may return with another flower when I feel less gloomy.

This thread is a pleasant addition to this forum, and I give thanks to forum user Flowerpower62 for creating it. I had initially thought to put the Chrysanthemum here, but after some thought I decided that while Chrysanthemum tea is my beverage of choice, and though Chrysanthemums are beautiful, Peonies are my foremost flower of personal fondness. There is a Peony Festival in the city of Luo Yang every year. It's quite a marvel to attend.
Where I lived while I er, grew up, I never got to see such beautiful flowers. Of course we had our share of wildflowers and the like, and they are beautiful as well, to see a Peony was a far off dream for us. They represented the luxury and wealth we'd never be able to grasp. Now that I am ah, older, I am privileged enough to be able to even purchase such beautiful flowers and tend to them in a garden. My parents and siblings would have been amazed. Yes.

It would have to be die Kornblume. They grew in the fields surrounding my hometown when I was a child and are part of my clearest memories of that era.

Digression aside, I have a liking for the alstroemeria. They look like lilies but are far more...vibrant.

Such wonderful, wonderful flowers, all of you, truly! Ishkabibble, it's quite all right; Some people associate flowers with death, others with love, fond memories, or for peace such as myself. Magnolias are a wonderful addition and the memory you have with them and your brother sounds like it's a wonderful one. I hope you add more later soon. Same to you, ChrysDAMNthemum! Do they still hold the festival now? If so, I hope we could attend soon at a later date. Kornblume's are just lovely, Pinecone--may I add your username is just as hilariously cute as ChrysDAMNthemum's? It's fitting for some reason, I don't know why. But regardless, the shade of your flowers are beautiful. ....I'll have to agree with Amsterdame, Solarpowered, that's a new way to look at sunflowers that's unforgettable. XD It's a different analysis, I'll give you that, and it makes sense. Don't they follow the sun with their faces everyday until sundown? Could be that they're "watching" the sun. Ahahaha! And Amsterdame, you chose some sweet flowers too. A fun fact is that they are indeed lillies but a variation of them. Alstroemerias are in the same family but are native to South America. They're also known as Inca Lilies. ----- Now, here's another treat for you all. This one is called Sapphire Tower. The name is very apt, I assure you. While slow growing, they can grow up to 6 feet tall or possibly even more. They're a very hardy plant, can survive extreme heat and do not require much watering. I had a few friends back in our...van. That had trouble keeping their "house" plants alive. Somehow they managed not to kill this plant, so it's just as easy to take care of as, say...a miniture cactus? Be careful though, it is rather prickly.

YESSSSS, sunflowers are some of my favourite too! I'm not really picky though, I like a lot of pretty flowers! Another I want to mention are Freesias. The have "free" in their name and come in a lot of different colours. Aren't they just beautiful? (✿ ♥‿♥)

I seriously agree with Amsterdame... Never again, will the sunflower come off the same way. My favorite, if you consider it a flower, is the Jade Vine. It's a tropical plant that is just beautiful and how it hangs around, it just reminds me of grapes, which reminds me of wine... Man, that sounds good right now. It changes colors depending on how much sun it gets and is close to extinction... This plant also attracts bats, and come on.... how can you not think bats are adorable.

If we are adding onto this collection of flowers, may I show the Chinese Lantern? Although I suppose it's not really a flower in the traditional sense, it's quite nice. They rather do look like peppers. However when the papery part of it withers, it becomes much more interesting:

Oh my, such beautiful flowers! They're very vibrant, too... ' v '!!! That imagery on sunflowers though... I'm somewhat glad they're not exactly a favorite of mine... Aaah this reminds me of the time I used to do gardening. I was very fond of white lilies before. Such pretty flowers, especially when put in arrangements! My personal favorite has to be the anemone, though. They come in such a variety of colors, it's difficult to pick just one as a favorite. (it also saves time when you're trying to throw a flower arrangement together very quickly haha!)

After a rather...stressful chain of events, I decided to return to this thread to cheer up a bit. chrysdamnthemum, I adore those Chinese Lanterns! Such darb little flowers, I want to see them in person. As another, slightly humorous contribution to this thread, let me introduce the Orchis Italica. At first glance, this orchid doesn't look that strange, but if you look a tad bit closer, I think you'll understand why this cheeky little flower is also called the Naked Man Orchid. They're really adorable, although they look like a bunch of poor, drunken fairy saps got trapped in the plant's clutches. And because of their saucy appearance, they were often used to make male aphrodisiacs
