I don’t usually think about what to do during weekends but yesterday I did and I got the urge to travel somewhere. I’ve heard about people doing weekend trips to various locations but quite frankly I am a very poor judge when it comes to deciding what location would be worth visiting. So many places but so little time.
Where would you go for a weekend vacation? As far away from home as possible or somewhere nearby? Do tell me, I am curious.

Have never taken any vacations, really, never had the interest for travelling, even if seeing new places can be nice. Have visited many places because of work, but that's about it. Would, however, suggest that you visit Russia one day, especially South of it. Beautiful place, wonderful nature and friendly people. There's nothing better to this world. One thing - if you visit Russia, never buy any alcohol from vendors. It might be self-made and burn your insides or God knows what else. Ending up blind isn't the worst thing that could happen.

A vacation? This is an interesting question although I do wonder if there is TIME for a vacation. These forums almost seem like vacation enough; I fear that I indulge in them but my free time is limited, making them convenient.
I would go back to Korea. I have not been there for.... years. Except on the occasional visit, but they have never lasted long. Perhaps to a beach, otherwise? I do admit to not having thought about this often. I will have to ponder this, now......
Cossack, I can not buy alcohol. I do not think I ever will. But in case this changes, I shall make a note to never buy alcohol from vendors. Gamsahamnida.

Aalborg, Denmark. Definite go. Especially to the Jomfra Ane Gade for those who drink or generally like to party. Otherwise, there are plenty of sights to see in Copenhagen itself. 'Sides, going on a road trip due south can land you in Germany if you're feeling adventurous.

Ah, this brings back memories from my own home country. I am not sure if you know, but Russian vodka is well known in Finland. I have stepped on Russian land once, sadly it was not during a vacation and I hardly had time to enjoy the views. Perhaps one day I should go see for myself, how much the country has changed.

But this is interesting. It seems like the first location that comes to your mind has been somewhere in your home country. Then again I think that it's only natural, since don't we all think that our home countries are the most beautiful countries in the world because that's where we have spend most of our time? Hmm?
Just an old man’s silly pondering, do not take my worlds too seriously. I need to do more research about the locations that you mentioned.

Sure, there'll be people who disagree with me, but when you've done enough travelling, you really just wanna go home. So how about you? Where would you go for a vacation?

Anywhere there's fun. It's pretty easy to sneak on a train, and stay on a train, so no-where's off limits really Though if I had to choose where where, I'd probably choose #Disneyland. Or #SixFlags. Or #Pharaoh'sLostKingdom Though sometimes Raves land on holidays too, so for those times #EDC Las Vegas and other major cities are pretty buzzin' with copious amounts of #GoodVibes. Though a cool thing about #Vegas is that you can drink and walk down the strip, if drinkin and walkin's your thing. Not a big fan of the #Spirits myself, but damn are # WhiteRussians #T A S T E Y .There's a lot to do, you should probz check it out one day if you haven't
And #Denmark you say #Jay? For parties? Hell yes, count me right in. The UK has a mad party scene from what I've heard, but I didn't think Denmark would. You go tiny country #Respect

After all, home is associated with safety and comfort and I can imagine us all enjoying spending time at places that are most familiar to us. We know how we are expected to behave, we know what is acceptable and what is not. Only the most adventurous types can stay away from such comforts for long periods of time, I would assume. Don’t we all shun the unknown and the things that we don’t understand? Aaah, where indeed? I am so tied to my work that I rarely think about that. Like I mentioned in my first post, but if I had to answer something I’d say that I’d travel to California. I heard that they sell excellent red wines there.

One's home is always important - no-one knows when one can return, so one should appreciate it while able to. Those who do not appreciate their home country have little love or gratitude in them, I believe. Did the country not raise them? Teach them their ways? I believe thats why we all think of our home country first, when asked.

Yeah, AMERICA is the place to BE. You all cute.
Okay, but obvious answer aside, if it could be ANYWHERE-? I'd spend a weekend in space. THE FINAL FRONTIER! How exciting. I wonder who gets to do arts and crafts up there...

Ah space would be quite fun to visit LibertyBell. Think of all the stars and things you'd get to see up close and personal. I've seen the images from the surface of the moon Io and that would be so cool to see in person.
Too bad it would take years and years to get to anything of interest. Also there's that dehydrated food thing. But if someone finds a way to get there and deal with those I'd gladly go see the universe.
Instead I'd rather take a trip to the Florida keys. When it's not being volatile during the hurricane season it's quite breathtaking and of course there is the ocean and the wildlife and the food.
Or another place to visit would be London. I'd love to have a grand tour sometime with someone who knows the place well. Lots of tea and lovely accents.
