Death's Headquarters
Death's HQ exists on Death's plane. The plane has a day and night cycle, seasons, weather-good and bad- just like the living world. However, there are some oddities. The air is completely clean and crisp, untouched by human pollution. The moon...the moon is almost 10 times larger than the one in the living world, unbearably more beautiful and the nights seem to last much longer. The actual building of Death's HQ is expansive and contains not only the offices of apprentices but also living corridors, entertainment and food. The entirety of the building is held up by trees, the largest one being in the dead middle.
About Chrysanthemum:
Death's HQ is surrounded by endless fields of chrysanthemums. Apprentices carry a chrysanthemum with them when they go down to the living world to do their reap orders. When they want to go back to the HQ, they puck out the petals until they are left with only the stem. They throw the stem and a portal will appear. Enter it and you will fall in the outside of the Death HQ flower fields, where that chrysanthemum was picked.
This method only works with fresh chrysanthemums. Once they start to wilt (one or two days), they will no longer be usable.
About Reap Orders:
When an apprentice get a reap order, they only get the first initial, last name, location, and rough time of death. They are usually sent there 15-30 mins before the person dies and who they reap becomes a mini-guessing game. Part of death is fate, part of it is just luck.
A reap order's difficult is measured in stars. The stars designate how many people are recommended to do the job. It is of course only a recommendation.
Reap orders are given out to a team and then they can be distributed amongst themselves. Apprentices are more likely to receive Reap Orders from the continent they use to live on. There is a high chance that they would receive orders for people that they know.
If an apprentice find that they are too emotionally attached to do their job, they can ask to defer the assignment to another person. Likewise, it is the team's responsibility to pull apprentices form missions that would provoke unsound judgment.
About Teammates:
From the moment an apprentice arrives, they are assigned to a team of four. An apprentice's team is like a family: if you don't like them, well too bad you are still stuck with them. A team shares the same room, points and often the same mission and reap orders. Members are expected to coordinate as a team. If one of its members is punished so does the whole team so be good boys and girls.
About Weapons:
All apprentices come to Death's HQ with a weapon that reflects their personality. These weapons can inflict injure to fellow apprentices and the living as well as cut thread. The weapon can break (and the apprentice would be able to feel it) but it can also mend itself. How fast it mends depends on the owner's state of mind. Any one can pick up an apprentice's weapon, including humans and other apprentices, but only apprentices can use them to cut thread. The weapon can innately callout to its owner if in the wrong hands. Please see ++CHARACTER CREATION++ and ++APPLICATION CREATION++ for more details.
About Cellphones:
Every apprentice is given a cell phone as their main form of communication. You can choose whatever cell phone you want and yes you can access the internet from it.
In the living world, the cell phone can mimic any ID needed. All an apprentice needs to do is wave it in front of a human and they will see whatever they are looking for.
About the Higher Plane:
The Higher Plane is the final resting place of human souls. At least that is what apprentices are told. In truth, no one has seen the Higher Plane because...well...you need to be thoroughly dead to see it.
When an apprentice reach their quota, they will ascend to Higher Plane to be reunited with their late-loved ones.
