Someone who thought themselves funny had decided to get a cassette player with a tape consisting of Terry Jacks "Seasons in the sun" on repeat and hid it away it in a place where it reached the highest possible amount of people that did not actually want to listen to death themed 70's music on a cloudy February afternoon a decade later. But alas, it was the song that came blaring into the room together with someone opening the door of the medical ward of Death's HQ and not shutting it properly behind them.
Goodbye, my friend, it's hard to die When the birds are singing in the sky
Drip, drip, drip.
Blood was coming down from the head of the young apprentice and leaving a trail behind him on the clean floor. His red shirt was smeared with dust and grime. Also his nose was bleeding. Socks and shoes were both missing from his feet, making him almost soundless as he staggered across the floor like a drunk person, trying to keep walking in a straight line.
So tired.
Walter crashed himself into the first and closest available person who looked like they might work in the place as if they were a collision bag. He spoke in a voice muffled by the person's white lab coat, limply lifting his arm up, shaking with the effort. The blood from his face had been smeared on it at some point. Tilting his head up so that he could actually see the person he had run himself into, he was looking like the most pitiful little zombie as he sulkily declared “My arm hurts.”

With a light yawn, the german doctor was glad to be able to get off his evening shift. It had been a rather long day with the morning batch of apprentices that met a hunter. Fortunately, they were mostly superficial wounds and zero casualties. It was still worth it, since he finally got his permit as an actual doctor. The medic foresee that the workload would increase with his new position, but he'll dwell on that at a later time perhaps. Leaving his seat, he absent-mindedly collided with a smaller figure and almost tripped over them. Yikes.
"Wh-" He managed to catch himself in time and supported the swaying young boy. Glancing down, his mint eyes widened with shock to see the crimson dyeing his ivory coat as he quickly bent down to Walter's level, supporting his shoulders. Think calmly, he tried to remind himself but to no avail. "A-are you hurting anywhere else besides your arms?" He blurted, eyes scanning up and down for the sources of wounds: Bruises on his chin, blood leaking like a broken tap from his nose. His ink hair was damp... and he knew that it wasn't water for sure. What on earth...?
"Hang on for bit, kid!" Grim said, sweeping the young boy off his feet as he secured his arms on the boy's shoulder and knees. The rush of adrenaline was making his head a little light.

“ 'tis jut my arm...” Walter sounded remarkably calm for a child smeared in blood, but with the added whistle on his s-sounds from a missing tooth it was like he spoke through a whistle. His vision flickered. That hasn't happened before. “...and my head a bit.” he murmured at the clearly stressed medical worker.
Swept up like a Disney princess Walter made an unhappy grunt. I hate the sick bay. “Just came in 'ere for the arm.” he persisted stubbornly with a frown as he was hurriedly carried away.

"Hey, c-can you do me a favour? Could you count to 50 for me?" He urged the little boy to stay conscious by occupying him with simple tasks. It would hopefully distract him from the pain as well. Resting him on a fresh bed, the medic began grab the necessary medical equipments from the shelf. Most of them seem like external wounds, except the arms. Taking a deep breath, the blonde calmed down considerably before asking with a smile, "Can you lift your arms like this?" He then demonstrated as he lifted his arm with ease. The nature of his injuries suggested a rather harsh fall and the boy's arms were either fractured or sprained.
Even though he didn't want to bombard his patient with questions, he knew it was inevitable. Grabbing a wet cloth, he rolled up his sleeves messily before wiping the blood off Walter's forehead. Ah, that's a long cut across his forehead...

“That is a strange request...” All the other times he had come here they all seemed to tell him to stop talking when he first started. “1..2..3..4..” Walter decided to try making it more fun by counting the different things the doctor kept doing, like how many steps it took him to find his tools. And how many tools he pulled out. And how many times he kept pushing his glasses. It made quite a fun little game.
“42...” With great difficulty he attempted to mirror the doctors arm movement, but to no avail. His arm stayed in the same condition as before, hardly able to move the lower part. Through gritted teeth that were pulled up in a grin he muttered “Lost the feeling in my fingers too....fancy that.” as if the whole thing was simply amusing to him.
Ack! Cloth dabbing! That's not what I came down here for! He twitched when the doctor touched the gash across his forehead. "50. Can I stop counting now? Or shall I count until 100 things that you do?"

The doctor gently patted the boy's arms and reassured lightly, "It's fine. We'll figure something out." He then proceeded to fetch ice from the fridge and towels to wrap it carefully around the fractures to reduce the red swells. "Good job, you can stop counting now. What's your name, little one?" He commented, eyes focused on keeping the ice in place. As soon as he was done, he popped two pills from his bottle and and offered it to Walter.
"This will numb the pain, boy. Could you help me turn on the backligh-" Grim paused for a moment before remembering that he was the last of his shift and it was just him and his patient left for the next 10 minutes in the office. Well, that was embarrassing, he bit his lips as he strode over to on the switches. That's the thing about first aid; it was immediate and as he is attending to a certain wound, his mind had already began to think up of the next injury he should be treating.
Brushing back his patient's fringe, he gently dabbed the antiseptic on the wound before pasting on a large band-aid over it. He wouldn't mind those little rabbit patterns on it, would he...?

"I am Walter...you must be the new guy." Hadn't seen this one before on his many visits to the sick bay. The cheeky grin faded when the pills were offered. "Ew I don't like those." "This will numb the pain, boy." They taste vile. "Could you help me turn on the backligh-" Walter watched with growing concern the doctors stress level as he talked into nothing and proceeded to go do everything himself. He silently slid the pills down into one of his pockets in hopes that he did not have to take the dumb medicine. Especially not with some guy that was all over the place.
Ouch. Ouch. Ouch. Nothing in the world could soothe the stings of- ohhhh bunny patterns. "Where you get these? I didn't know you guys had anything but the beige ones. I usually let Maxwell or someone draw on mine because they are so boring. Did you make them yourself?"
