Setting: Swensen's Ice Cream, Hyde Street, San Francisco. Sometime past 3 pm, sunny weather
The city was bustling as it would on any other day, people milling about. A dumpster in an alley shuddered under the weight of a young man as he landed onto it. Lincoln jumped off to land on the ground, stretching. His team had agreed to meet up somewhere in the area, just for some socializing. He didn't mind it, it would make it easier for him to communicate with them during reap orders, after all. Putting his hands in his hoodie pocket, he saunters out of the alley onto the sidewalk. He squints in the light, barely seeing the red threads trailing behind the people passing by. Some stared at him, probably at his hair. Lincoln grinned at them until they looked away.
Shrugging, he walked to his left, looking up at the buildings on the block and across it. They agreed on an ice cream place, so he remembered. The streets seemed familiar. Just...familiar, yet not quite remembering how he knew of this place. He checked the text on his phone which held all the details. 1999 Hyde Street..., looking up he sees a parlor on the corner, with the shop's name in white. Crosschecking with GPS, that seemed to be the place. Lincoln crosses the road to step into the creamery, and slides into a seat next to the window. Setting his phone down on the table in front of him, he leans back in the seat, steepled his hands, and looked out the window to look for any signs of his teammates.

She had never been there before. She only knew the city... Somehow... By name only, to be honest. Even with 20 years of death, Mirella didn't know lots of places, that because she was always inside the library taking care of all those lovely books. Once she landed, she looked to the sides deciding on the route she should take. She followed the flow. It'd probably be the place in which people would be around the most, or the opposite, but it was a good try. Just keep walking.
While walking she felt the panda charm of her cellphone and she reminded the address was there. A icecream shop huh? She remembered when they decided it. She agreed because it has been a while since she last had icecream and, indeed, they needed some bounding, but she wasn't sure if they'd get along. Probably yes, somehow she was a little positive about it. The woman sighed as she ran her hand through her hair, feeling lost.
"Where's the place?" - She mumbled on her own language. Her cellphone didn't have a GPS and she didn't understand the indications. As she passed by a window, she noticed a quite familiar... hair. She looked to the side and recognized Lincoln, should that be his name? Well, she made it then. She walked to the shop's entrance and slowly walked to where her teammate was. - "Mhmm... Hi."

(Guess who's lame enough to have a reply she typed out, forgot to save, and then lost through a computer update? *meeeeeee* Sorry this is so late by the way--BUT FINALLY AFTER 84 YEARS~)
"Turn left here."
The artificial intelligence google maps provided chimed from Rayen's phone, giving it's fifth piece of advice that day. She kept her eyes downward, fixated on the shiny screen to watch as the little cursor (she learned was her) move slowly along the dotted pre-determined path set out for her, head bopping up and down every few minutes, cautious to not run into a building or a pole, which so far-so good. Nifty little things like this are what made the young woman interested in keeping her items--what little there were--up to date. An app here solved a difficult math question and another app there determined if a food would trigger your allergies or not.It made Rayen slightly curious and a bit reminiscent at the thought of what if things like these were present back in her time. A lot of world problems would be solved for sure and yet if that were the case then there'd be more pieces of technology created today and--
HOOOOOOOONK!!
Rayen yelped, jumping back onto the curb she nearly teetered off of as the car that just honked, whizzed by with equal fervor. Everyone around her remained patiently at the crosswalk, which revealed to Rayen that she hadn't been paying attention at all, not to the signal to cross the street and certainly not to the blaring green street light signaling cars to come through without any pause. Even in death, succumbing to a collision-splat accident was not on her to-do list, nor was the curiousity to find out if she could "die a second time".
No, her itinerary consisted to meet her new teammates. It had been quite some time since she was last assigned to a team, the first group she was with didn't last very long to make a good impression. Not that she was in any warm spirits with any of them either, keeping to herself, wallowing in despair. With passing decades she learned the hard way that even though they were all paused in time now with their respective "death Ages", it didn't mean those very same people would be around forever. She had recently learned that it would be best to make the most of her surroundings now to give it a shot, and maybe this time around, she'd find some inner peace with her new teammates. Rayen wasn't ready back then, but she nodded to herself that she definitely was now.
Hopefully she would meet them without causing another accident to herself.
Eyes forward, but still attentive to the little app in her phone, Rayen crossed the street and turned down onto the next block. She glanced ahead for any crossing signals or heavy traffic roads, and with none in sight, her eyes wandered back to the phone.
Forward, forward, left, right, backtrack to the block you just passed, the phone continued offering more of it's useful tone, chiming finally after an hour of meandering through the back alleyways leading to the ice cream store. Rayen looked between the phone and the sign of the shoppe before finally tucking her phone away.
It was...quaint. Definitely low-key, open and friendly. It reminded her of a few shops back in her old hometown years ago. The small woman couldn't help but quirk a little grin at the familiarity. With the clear open window giving obvious view to the street beyond the store, Rayen cupped her hands around her eyes, pressing her nose up to the glass-pane to see if she could spot the few physical descriptions of whom she was to meet.
A woman with a mole under her eye; A woman with a decorative headdress (and no shirt nor bra on); and a man with green hair.
Green was definitely the first thing that caught her eye, it was definitely eye popping among the sea of strangers inside. Perhaps following that neon-bright-top would help lead her to where the rest of the group was residing. Upon entering inside, however, was a different story.
She was used to being short, grew up remaining the same height since elementary school--that never bothered her any. What had always bothered her, was where a huge crowd was concerned. With the growing line towards the cashier counter, it made it hard to find anyone she was with or supposed to be meeting. Naturally, the other party found the same problem, though she was easier to spot being mostly hair and legs herself. Not wanting to attract attention from the living folk, she weaved her way through the line, hoping that if any noticed, she'd pass for a small child running back to their parent. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it cost her a longer glance than needed from a curious human. However, she never stayed long to find out if the person did find something truly off about her.

The crowd in the shop picked up over time, and the seats around him were getting fuller and fuller. Looking around, Lincoln squinted, as if that would help him locate the girls from his team. He heard a "Hi" from within the crowd, and looked to see one of the girls. He grinned and waved her over.
"That's one here, now two more to go!" he chuckled as she slid into a seat. "I hope you didn't get so lost getting here...," he continued after a while, casting a glance at her then looked around for the other. Maybe 3 PM was not the ideal time to get together in the human world. The line at the counter was growing quite well, and the subdued hubbub of business became more vocal as orders flew around with increased speed and urgency.
There were also quite a number of children around, clinging to their parents, sitting in their seats, bouncing over their ice cream and then there was the errant few that liked to wail or scream for no reason other than excitement. As he frowned at some, he noticed that there was a figure in the crowd approaching them, small like a child but definitely not looking the part. Was that...? It was hard to focus on her as people kept passing by and frowning at him instead in the assumption that he was rudely staring at them. Eventually, though, she came through the crowd and spotted them. Indeed it was, he mused as he raised a hand and waved her over.
"Glad we could all make it," he says in a sing-song manner as they shifted in their seats, safe from the crowd.

Indeed, seemed like the more the time passed, the more the store were getting full. That amount of people was making Mirella feel unconfortable. She shifted on her seat and fingered her bracelet that had another panda on it. Not that she was a fan of panda, but they were pretty cute, she couldn't deny it, besides on Japan there were such adorable things of them. Well, back to the place, she forced herself looking up since she had just smiled sheepishly at her teammate then looked down. She hoped she didn't give a bad first impression, she was just a little uncomfortable for being there just with him.
Soon a small figure appeared next to them, it was their other teammate. So just one was missing. She blinked again and smiled as the girl came around. Mi nodded not knowing what to say and, prefering to keep weird words to herself, she kept it like that.
//Are we really going to have ice cream? I wonder which flavor they could have here. I probably will go to some fruit one, yea, that's a good try.//
She was really out of there on her own world.

Kehinde was leaning against a building that was across the street from the location that he and 3 other dead people were suppose to meet up in for...ice cream.
Who the h*ll ever heard of 4 stiffs meeting up, let alone meeting up to eating ice cream....
It was still odd for him, this whole concepts of being a apprentice had yet to fully sink in. Heck even the fact the he was inhaling and exhaling smoke from the cigarette in his hand wasn’t making much sense, all he could figure was that nothing seemed to make much sense in his life, so why the h*ll should it in death.
With that thought he exhaled a lungful of smoke before turning his attention to the ice cream parlor just in time to spot a tuffet of green hair approach it. That was one of them, a young looking punk ^ss wanna be who was named after a old amish *ss president. He already guessed the only thing he’d like about the kid was his hair color. After he disappeared into the store another approach a blue eyed, brunette girl, who looked to be in her, oh early twenties? He almost didn’t spot her seeing as how she was dressed pretty much like every other pretty girl that was walking the sidewalks today. Thinking back to his first encounter however short it was he could tell she was the mousy type, in fact both girls seemed pretty mousy, but this one seemed much more reserved than the other.
Speaking of which a loud blow of a horn alerted him to the other mouse he was referring to, Where the other was seemingly cool and calm most of the time, this chick seemed to have the jitters and was easily scared. Both women seemed to have a nice set of cha cha’s so he couldn’t complain too much, besides the quiet mousy ones were always fun to harass and get a good laugh out of, he’d use these two in just that way.
He only waited a little while after the three were there in the shop before finally crossing the road to reach the building. The lack of attention on him as he entered the door, was still unsettling, making him feel strange in his own skin…
....d*mn was this even skin?.. ...could he still bleed, would it even feel the same?...
Silently, but with a malicious and not so friendly air he approached the table the other 3 sat at. Hands placed into his pockets he eyed the 3 silently for a second before pulling out a chair and sitting next to the brown chick, sharply leaning into her personal space in a daunting manner for a second, long enough to check her out, before pulling back and placing his cig back between his lips muttering a “Alright b*tches let’s get this over with.”

Some apprentices gave off the same air of the decade that they died in. Others, seemed to easily assimilate themselves within the times and threw away their past lives with ease, embracing the new fashion trends with eager fevor. It was always the first thought to cross Rayen's mind each time she met someone, wondering what time period they had lived in and possibly, how long they've been within death's plane.
Since the new meeting today, there wasn't much that was said when she was assigned to her roommates aside from physical descriptions and names. Nothing like a few ice breakers to get started right? Right. Looking down towards the table as though it would give her some answers, Rayen began to open her mouth....
And promptly closed it shut tight. The newcomer to their little group had arrived, swiftly sitting down next to her and leaned in close. Instinctively, she tensed up, worn down nails gripping the edge of the table, unable to face him directly. She leaned a little aways, keeping her head down until the ginger-mohawked man went back into his own personal space. The entire ordeal, while now gone as soon as it came, still left her rigid, and her voice went up a few octaves.
"S-should we begin with our names, then?"

'Ugh rude' Was Mirella's first thought over the weirdo with a big monhawk. Of course she was happy to not be the one having her personal space invaded so out of blue, but she was looking at the other woman with a soft smile, hoping she was ok. Back to her thoughts over the gingerhead, if she could, she'd glance at the newcomer with a 'that was unpleasant' look, but she didn't want to be glared back or even to be shouted at. He wasn't a child also, so that wouldn't work.
At the other woman's suggestion of introducing themselves, she sinked down on the chair she was sitting, but nodded, a nod that probably no one noticed. She wasn't the type to talk first, mostly with strangers. However she forced herself: 'ok go make a good first impression! Last time you didn't even make strong bounds'. She sighed and opened her mouth to speak but, like always, someone talked first and she pretended it was nothing. Her whole attention went to the ice cream flavors listen on the wall.

At some points in time back in HQ, Lincoln would be looking in the mirror to adjust his hair. At that moment in time, he wondered why exactly did his living self decide to have that kind of hair. Was it an act of defiance? It must have been one, considering the colour it came in.
When their fourth and final teammate approached, Lincoln expected a man but not one of his stature. He had a vague recollection of biker movies, a few pictures Salnae had shown him of tough men in studded leather jackets, wearing gloves, boots, sunglasses, smoking cigarettes and round biker helmets. The newcomer smelt strongly of a lit stick as he leaned forward, and the words that came out of his mouth were certainly those versed by rednecks or ones who had a fighter's life. Lincoln raised a brow at him as he sat back into his seat next to the dark lady, who was pretty much at squeaking point at the moment. The girl next to himself, the quiet brunette, made vague movements. He was surrounded by two meek women and one man with a problem that is not quite clear to all of them.
"Well, yes, hello *sshole," Lincoln responded, raising his hand in a half-hearted greet before dropping it on the table. He had to try to be civil. They had to work together, after all. "Considering you spooked the young lady and seem to be in a huge hurry, why don't you start with your name?" He leaned forward slightly, his arms tucked near him with fists clenched.
"Explain yourself in ten words or less," Lincoln tilted his head slightly, "Also state your ice cream of choice," he continued, squinting at the other mohawk before nodding at the other two ladies, trying to indicate to them to pick their choices as well. He waved over -with some difficulty- a waiter and placed his order.

The slightest smirk pushed at his mouth at the expense of the girl sitting next to him, but one had to be paying pretty close attention to catch the brief twitch of his lips. His eyes glanced at the other two, mostly the quiet girl who he thought for sure was glaring at him a second ago. Green Meadows was speaking at the moment, suggesting he start with the introductions and ice cream choice....yeah he didn't like this Bone jacker to much. Shifting forward in his seat too he locked his glare on to the boy, a challenging stare in his reddish brown orbs. His face was calm but his eyes burned lightly the flames of a man who probably wasn't completely stable. The look only last a moment before he popped a crazed toothy grin, his gaze turning to the quiet Burnett, whom he noticed fidgeting a bit. He could only guess the girl had no voice at least in the aspect of also having no back bone. She clearly had wanted or was going to say something but when Greenie got there first she had backed off not even trying to challenge him. No one else seemed to notice, but he did. He was like the Hyena he portrayed, being able to sense the fear and meekness radiating off of her.
The dangerous smile stayed as did his gaze on her, a knowing look as if to tell her he knew to that she was submissive. "Alright, i'll shoot first." he said with a chuckle settling back in his seat taking a slightly less intimidating posture. "I'm Kehinde, age 28. Armed and extremely dangerous, all personal are to shoot on sight,Wanted dead or alive." he said calling out the same criminal descriptions and orders that were given in order to bring him down. "Others referred to me as sick and deranged. Put simply, don't F*k with me." Despite his unfriendly and unsociable behavior the man was actually curious about the 3, enough to not start something deliberately and get himself on the hot seat and probably sent straight to hell once the 'big Guy' realized there was an obvious mix up. Anyway he was still here, had they not been interesting enough he would've just split a long time ago.
"That should about cover it....oh right." he began cheekily before realizing he'd forgotten to pick an ice cream. pulling up a menu he really only expected the usually strawberry, chocolate, vanilla and banana choices, but when he opened it his mind was thrown for a slight loop at the array of choices. "Holy h*ll this menu is to the F*ing max...." he said under his breath as he eyed his choices, after a moment of scanning he decided, "Get me the Coit Tower" he said look at the waiter briefly, before turning grinning dangerously at the shaken girl beside him. "Your turn niña" he said putting on a fake Hispanic tone while his eyes unashamed and blatantly roamed her curves and figure.

It was hard to tell if the others had came to her defense. The other brunette girl (from what Rayen could sneak quick peeks away from the table she currently stared at) had remained silent during the exchange. A faint glimmer of malicious intent passed over her eyes but nothing more. The green-topped boy, on the other hand, replied with just as much fevor as the boy next to her, not seeming to back down from the ginger's off-putting personality. At least one of them was brave enough to say something.
Rayen groaned inwardly; She was supposed to be making a change within this decade, but already minutes in she was falling back into her own habits.
Small steps first, though, she later added, while listening to 'Kehinde, age 28' talk. At least look at your teammates.
Everything he said and anything he didn't want to add pretty much confirmed most of her suspicions about him. The very notable one being that he was very scary. Wanted dead or alive wasn't something a normal person would brag about unless they lead a criminal past life and were definitely proud of it. It gave her some memories back to the chapter of the Black Panthers she used to run with, there was always both sides to a story. Even those who were deemed criminals in the police department's eye.
Curiosity began to grow in her mind, wondering if the others had such a past too. Maybe that's why the four of them were all partnered up within the same team?
"Your turn niña".
Another thing Rayen noted about him, he had a weird sense of humor. It wasn't at all remotely accurate, and frankly it was just as about as off putting as the eyes he was giving her. She decided to ignore it for now, speaking up for her turn.
"M-mi nombre es R--ah!!" She literally blanked, all the mental power she gave into building confidence had neglected the other part of her brain to speak in english. Perfect way to start the introduction. She took a small deep breath, and tried again.
"H-hello. I am Rayen.." Small as her voice was, an attempt was made. "I am..er..I was? I had turned 20 about a few months ago before I died.. Right in the middle of the summer too. U-uhm.." Wait. Was that more than the ten words the other male had suggested? She stopped, trying to count. Welp, it was well over eleven for sure, so it was better now not to say anything else. Let the other two speak their turn. She glanced towards the menu, reading over all the flavors, eventually settling over the category of spicy-and-sweet desserts.
"I-I'd li-ike the ah, the Cinnabon Milkshake, por-favor?" She asked to the waiter.

The sudden shiver out of nowhere made Mirella glance at the weirdo mohawked again. He was going from rude to disgusting the more he talked. They exchanged some glances, but whenever they met she looked away blinking feeling more and more annoyed and she didn't even know the reason herself. At least that made her keep her head instead of fidgeting on her bracelet.
Well, her impression over the others? Was going fine so far, though. She felt really comfortable around them, somehow, yet when that... Kennedy, Kevin... Whatever name he had, had arrived, made her feel really uncomfortable and irritated. It probably was because the frequency of swear words and his attitude in general. Quite unnecessary.
On the other hand, she could tell and even make it obvious that she instantly had some compassion towards the other brown haired girl, while towards the green haired guy, it was a quite friendly feeling... Just a bit annoying... A completly fine annoying.
When it was her turn, she took a deep breath and raised an eyebrow, speaking with a voice they probably didn't expect her to have. 'My turn' ... "Mirella Guimarães Souza. Brazillian. I died with 23. Now, I don't think I'm as interesting as mister Dangerous to say anything else, so..." She looked away after that ... W-What? Ok, she let out her frustration with the K-whatever-his-name-is, but... Well, ok, just back to the normal self. "A-And I'll go for Mint Chocolate Chip."
Her old self was coming out sooner than she had thought.

Lincoln ordered a Rocky road, narrowing his eyes at the man (Kehinde?) in front of him for being lewd. The girl (Rayen?) was certainly getting squeakier by the minute, and he sensed some sort of movement from the other girl(Mi...Mirella?) to his left. He wondered if he should help poor Rayen, but then some women could handle themselves. He'd give the punk one more chance before he starts getting cold things to chill the hotshot down.
"Wanted dead or alive huh? Guess they have only one option now," Lincoln replied with a scoff, crossing his arms and leaning back in his bench seat. "Name's Lincoln," he added, leaving his age out. It was just a number, after all. Especially now that they were 'dead', there would be no additions to that number. Forever 22. He shrugged and waited in silence for their orders, observing his teammates. He could ask their jobs, he supposed. It was supposed to be an introductory to all of them, after all. Lincoln wondered if he should mention that he was switching to the Police division in the Headquarters right now, or maybe tell them when they are in less testing waters? Kehinde didn't seem to be the kind of guy who would take kindly to law enforcers of any kind, and the girls were pretty meek to begin with.
"I'm a full-time Reaper," Lincoln said instead, stating his previous job at Headquarters. "And if you don't f*ck with us," he continued, leering at the punk sizing up Rayen like a lion over deer, "then we won't f*ck with you."
It would probably take ten to twelve minutes to have an order of ice cream for four people to be ready, more time for the fact that as Apprentices, Humans would tend to forget their presence. After saying his piece, Lincoln turned to look at the crowd instead, ready to flag down any waiter that happened to be carrying their desserts.

Kehinde sat forward in his chair, an arm rested on the table to prop his head onto as he watched the others give out their information. The girls answered as expected….well mostly. His eyes gave a interested gleam when Mirella gave a touch of a snap he expected was put in his direction. He sensed a bit more bite out of this chickadee to begin with but he didn’t think he would pull it out of her so soon, this was certainly something he’d have to dig deeper into. He raised intrigued eyebrows at her sending a grin her way before his attention moved to the next member of his team to speak.
“Only gave them one option.” He said cockily an amused snicker following shortly after, mostly due to greenie’s...threat? Was that what that was? Looking away in amused disbelief as this kid tried to ward him off. Alright, he’d call him on his bluff. “So you're a Reaper, huh?” He said gesturing a finger to point in his direction. “I’m a reaper too, funny though, i haven’t seen your *ss around the office space.” He said eyes narrowing in on him, trying to discern why he was lying about his work.,
