Sienna had been wanting to thank Owen for being such a sweetheart. While the outfit she'd promised was still being worked on she though she should do something else for him to repay the flamingo encounter. So she'd done some research and discovered a bird watching outdoor event. It was a look at your leisure kind of thing so no pressure and there would be all kinds of fowl around to pick out. Even came with some cute bird key chains as a nice prize for paying for a ticket.
Dressed humbly in a dark green button down jacket, a blue tunic shirt and some black jeans she waited patiently outside the park they'd agreed to meet at. He had no idea what she had planed so she'd just told him to be surprised. She was pretty excited about it really. She hoped he didn't think it was dumb. She'd have to make up for failing if it was.
A little nervous about what he'd think she wiggled in her seat on a bench as she clutched a small satchel she'd brought as well. A small lunch of sorts. And of course some birdseed. Sighing she stared out at the forest and the few people milling about. Someone had nearly sat on her earlier but for the most part she was pleased and content and of course excited.

Owen wasn't sure what Sienna had in mind - all he had was an address to a park. A rather large one he didn't think he had been to before. She said it would be a surprise, so what did that mean? Did she have something to give him? No, they could have done that at HQ. So it was something about the park. And whatever it was, Owen cautiously looked forward to it.
He was wearing what he usually wore in the real world, a shirt too big for him because he liked the long sleeves, a vest too old because he liked it, a necktie in a deadknot because he gave up tying it. People didn't care, people didn't see him. Despite the weather he refused to dress any differently.
He came a little later than he calculated, a little past their agreed time to meet. It wasn't hard to spot Sienna though. He just had to locate somewhere that had a gap where a white thread should be. He scanned the straggling groups outside the park...
There she was. She was alone on a bench, threadless. He walked over and stopped in front of her.
"Hello Sienna." He said, his missing smile in his voice.

Sienna glanced up and offered Owen a tiny smile. He was really just too cute. Standing up she waved and greeted him. "Hello Owen." That tie though, it hardly looked proper. So she simply set her things down and undid it. Within moments he was sporting a much more fashionable half Windsor. Stepping back she smiled again admiring her handiwork, Much more acceptable. Finally she turned back to her satchel and pulled out her tickets, handing one to Owen.
It was a simple ticket with little flair. It simply read the date, the time and the event. Bird Watching. She hefted her satchel over her shoulder as she patiently waited for him to respond in some fashion. he seemed to be the emotionally stunted type. She hated to think what he'd dealt with to become the way he was. But for now that didn't matter. She was repaying his kindness with something she hoped he'd enjoy. And if he didn't that was fine too. She'd just have to think of something else. "If.. you don't want to... t-that's fine." She said after a moment, still hoping he'd be okay with it.

He was surprised that she could undo that tie. He could never do it right, but with the new half Windsor looked proper. Like it should have been. "Thank you Sienna." He smiled with his eyes and turned his attention to the slip he was being handed--
He pulled it right up close to his eyes. Bird watching, it read. He flipped the ticket around to see if there was any text or details he'd missed. It was a very simple ticket with the bare minimum. "I want to." He said cheerily. "I want to see birds. I'll see birds with you. Don't be so scared with me." He could tell she was feeling somewhat uneasy. She always seemed to be, around a lot of people.

Sienna had learned her tie skills from fixing Clarence's botched up accessories growing up. As well as some others here and there. She grinned at his thank you and was struck once again with the oddest feeling that he was smiling even though he wasn't. Letting it go for now she waited with baited breath to see his response to their day in the park and was as always expecting a negative response. But he did in fact want to see some birds. She was elated even if it wasn't outwardly noticeable. He'd also picked up on her apprehension. Her nerves were always ruining things.
"I'm glad... you want to see some b-birds with me Owen." She said softly her gratitude and relief coloring her words/ "And I will t-try not to be. I-I'm not afraid of you at least." She added with a small smile as she gestured to where the other bird watchers were gathering and someone was handing out pamphlets and papers to keep track of what they seen. "Shall we go?"

Sienna was beaming at his agreement to go. Owen could feel her excitement. Today was going to be a nice outing for them, at least.
"I am always tidy glad to see birds." He told her. He gave a gesture for her to follow him and he took the pamphlets from his fellow bird watcher. He scanned the papers, recognising every single one. He'd seen most, if not all of them at HQ before. "If you want to see birds I can call them over." He chuckled under his smiling eyes.

Sienna giggled a little at his fun terminology behind a sleeved hand. It had taken her a few times but she was now quite sure he was using the word tidy in place of pretty. It was kind of adorable. Her hand still hovering over her mouth she nodded. While she had planed this trip she was sadly not the most knowledgeable and was perfectly fine letting him take the reins as she trailed close behind. She peered at the list of birds and the pictures finding it all quietly fascinating.
"Oh? You can?" She asked looking curiously. She'd figured it was only the HQ fowl that cared or came close. And being a coward she of course had never tried to initiate much contact. Sliding her gaze to her young companion and then back to the pamphlet she nodded. "Well that would b-be nice yes. But um.. m-maybe not so many at um.. one time?" She didn't want to go running if they swarmed too much after all.

Sienna seemed to have found something rather amusing. "What is funny?" He asked blankly. He wondered if it was anything he said or did. That thought left him almost immediately as his focus switched again.
"Not too many. Too many is too obvious. Obvious is bad." He looked up at some pigeons that had gathered above them out of curiosity. He shook his head at them quietly before walking on. "Have you seen any before?" He asked her, holding up the bird guide.

"Oh nothing." Sienna replied grinning a little as she waved his question off with her hand. She'd rather not bring it up lest he feel offended. And since today was meant to be a thank you she couldn't have him feeling down.
She nodded quietly at his words of wisdom. Obvious was usually bad so she agreed with that whole heaertedly. AS eh asked about the birds she leaned over and pointed out about 7 or so varieties that she was familiar with. She'd seen a lot of birds but hadn't paid too much attention to the details. What would Lyaton say if he heard such a thing? There were a lot of bird types though. She hoped they got to see most of them.

He left the matter alone. It wasn't anything big anyway.
She pointed out the more common types of bird, to no one's surprise. 7 was already pretty good though. "Do you come out a lot? You have seen a lot of birds." His voice seemed to indicate he was proud of her. And he kind of was - most people didn't notice birds a lot. "We will see a lot more." he said, closing the bird guide with a flourish.
The park was delightfully expansive, with so many trees for the birds to come by on. "Now we wait." he told Sienna, stopping by a large tree.

Sienna continued to idly look at the birds listed as Owen spoke. She wasn't sure but he sounded kind of pleased with her 7 birds she recognized. "Oh uh yeah, I like being o-outside." She admitted and smiled. "I'd like to see lots more yes." Trailing close behind him they stopped by a tree where he then announced they need only wait. Curious gold eyes peered around expectantly as she taped her fingers together gently just happy to be someplace nice with someone she was growing rather fond of.

No sooner than they'd stopped, a bird noticed them. He looked up towards it and tilted his head in a silent greeting. It squawked at him a rather small sound, considering its size. It was small, tubby, brown with a red belly. Glancing down at the guide in his hands, he held it out to Sienna with a finger on the photo of a bird similar to it. Under the picture read "American Robin".

Sienna glanced around idly before noticing Owen was watching something intently. Oh a bird already. She watched quietly as the robin squawked and smiled since it seemed they were speaking. it was terribly cute. She glanced at the guide and to the bird. "Yep." She laughed softly looking to the bird and waved meekly. Their first bird was a Robin and she was looking forward to seeing more. But would they need to move around or would the birds all come to them? Either way she was really looking forward to it.

He looked up at the little robin. He tilted his head as a greeting of some kind, watching it peer down on them. Hello to you too. It hopped off after a moment.
Owen wasn't going to lead them all the way, so he held the guide in front of Sienna's eyes, perhaps a little closer than one would be comfortable with. The sheet almost touched her nose. "Your turn." he said with a smile in his voice. "Your turn to find a bird." he dropped the paper lower and handed it to her as per normal. Sienna had to experience finding birds for herself.

Sienna watched the bird and the boy with curious eyes. It was amusing and adorable and smiled a little behind her sleeve covered hand. The robin seemed to have gotten some sort of communication from the boy since it twitched it's head once and then flew off.
She was a little sorry to see it go when the guide was almost shoved into her face. Her head jerked back in surprise but she settled down soon after with a small grin as it was now her turn to choose and find a bird herself. "Oh um.." She hesitated. Which bird should she choose? And how did she go about finding one. "Um..." She muttered softly as she pointed at a red cardinal. "How about this one?" She asked and glanced around. A red bird should be easier to locate.
