I used to work in a flower shop, so I've picked up a few things about the language of flowers. So. . . Did you know . . . That the language of flowers really began during the Victorian Era? Although using flowers to convey meaning was something that was used in the past, it became popular in in England the 1800s to send secret messages using flowers. It was during this time that flowers began to hold specific meanings and the language of flowers as we know it today, really developed. Depending on how they're arranged, flowers can even send different messages, so "flower dictionaries" books explaining the meaning of flowers, herbs, etc. began to be published. Floriography can be used to express a wide variety of sentiments? Because some of the more popular flowers, such as red roses, are used to convey romance or love, most people assume that any type of flower will do the same. However, you'd be pretty in some trouble if you gave your wife or girlfriend a bouquet of white and yellow carnations. In the language of flowers, they mean "disdain, hatred, or disappointment." Some flowers even show friendship or gratitude. Next time you're thinking of buying flowers, remember that you can create a custom message for whatever you want to say.

K E N O A N T H I S I
Wow, I'm like totally stoked to see all these replies from waking up! But really dude, fairies? Well, that does explain your icon a lot hahahha All I know about fairies is they like to fuck you up and get turnt. Nice life style imo. Oh man Tresemme', well, if I end up in a victorian I'll be sure to be askin bout that, I am not ready to die any time soon. I couldn't find that green though--PM me with the colour cuz I'm real curious! Sounds like the Cossacks like lookin fly as hell, style with meaning, the way to #werk. I love flower language because I can diss someone and they just like "Aw you shouldn't have". I'm gonna call u Myosotis--it's the genus name for forget-me-nots : )
B L O O D R O O T [Sanguinaria Canadensis][bloodroot bloom] A very lovely white bloomed flower, got its name because when you cut its roots open the sap is a bright red. It was used by native americans as dye as well as medicines. Thing is though, this plant is damn toxic, which really, in nature, if shit is bright (like the sap) it's 10/10 not recommended. Because basically what they used this sap for was to tend to escharotic flesh? Which is basically dead/dying flesh and sometimes you have to surgically remove it, so this sap when in a salve can help slough off the dead flesh buuuut it can sometimes fuck up depending on how much you use( like it can disconfigure you), so it's very important to make sure you don't use a lot. What's really bad though is they use this shit in a lot of basic prodcuts, like for a time it was in toothpastes and mouthwash but it ended up causing like cuts in the mouth and infected them and could even lead to cancer! Your safest bet with this plant imo is just as a dye hahahaah like--just don't LMFAO
[cut open root]
G H O S T P L A N T [Monotropa Uniflora][Ghost Plant stalks/blooms] This plant is kinda really awesome, ngl-- So basically it's white and obviously has no chlorophyll, reason for that being because it's actually somewhat parasitic. It lives off specific fungi and these fungi can only be found on certain trees. So it gets its energy from the photosynthetic trees. Because of this it can live in really dark habitats. Also because of this it makes it really rare and hard to recreate/regrow. In fact once picked it wastes like 0 time in turning black and dying. But just because it's parasitic on fungi, does not include itself in fungi--just thought I'd clarify. It's a really pretty plant, it can also be called Corpse Plant and or Indian Pipe, it's found normally in the Americas.
[inside the bloom]
M A Y A P P L E [pdophyllum peltatum][mayapple bloom]
This little guy, named for the mere fact that it blooms in May and looks like an apple flower, is a poisonous mofo . The fruit it produces however can be eaten, in small doses. Considering it's normally used as topical medicines, and if used to much can cause irritation to the skin including pealing, itchiness, or burning--one can imagine what that'd be like internal hahaha! What's cool though is it's root is shaped kind of like the Mandrake root, you know those screaming baby plants from Harry Potter? Yeah--So a lot of us cool botanists over here like to study it to see if we can find any use of it for medicine since Mandrakes were highly revered back in the day. Who knows-- Either way, if you end up with Mayapple peanut butter and jelly sandwich, be careful, don't go for seconds HAHAHA [totally looks like a human LMFAO ???]

Woops a daisy. Pm'ed you the Green I meant.. and edited my post. :'9 Don't want to miss inform ppl. Oh gosh.. any era is pretty bad
Let me tell you.
In Tudor reign, You are more likely to die from tooth decay and chimney fires. In Edwardian period, it was electrocution and mentioned before asbestos poisoning.
Chimney fires and electrocutions were mainly due to using something new and revolutionary.. and marketing at such a fast rate without really testing and regulating these new idea's and inventions.
In the Tudor home, Houses were mainly one story. However with the addition to a chimney it allowed heat within the home. and actually allowed for the need of a second floor within the home. It's amazing what one simple thing can change a whole system. Now as I said, Chimney's weren't regulated, i.e how it was properly made, materials use, maintenance. People wanted heat fast.. and they built them with improper materials. Using clay, paper, wood, things that of course are flammable. Not to mention when the structure isn't built properly which allows for the smoke to vent out properly. The smoke stays within the chimney and the built up of the gases become flammable. The next fireplace that is lit could be your last. Houses, towns, could all catch on fire. It was a mess. Eventually town ordinance called for proper chimney regulations. Proper building, chimney sweeps twice a month. Problem solved more or less.
Now in the Edwardian period. With the invention of electricity. it didn't take long for it to start to replace gas lighting. However because there weren't any regulations set in place, and because it became a status symbol to have. Setting up your house with electric wiring was often done on their own. No professionals necessary. That of course meant problems. You can only imagine. Not to mention because it was so knew. they didn't realize that having a metal cord for you appliances was a big no no---
Oh gosh I could go on about these things. but just keep it short :'9

Haha!! This thread reminds me of that youtube channel Good Mythical Morning. lmao their videos are so funny and informational !!! I think my favorite is the one they did on smell-tasting! Not only was it funny, I had no idea that your sense of smell affected your sense of taste so much!!! (here's a link to the video I'm talking about youtu.be/VuR6QuWrHrc )

I can't handle all these flower facts, like damn man, mad respect for learning all of that. And retaining it . Don't think I saw the last one, damn shame too, it's a great idea for a thread! Hopefully we won't have to switch servers and lose all this again FF#1 Diggy dog poop gates in Mickey's Kingdom: So what do you do when you have your dog friend, and he really needs to poo? Well, you have two choices!!
One is the Disney Kennel Club: This is where Goofy and Pluto go, I imagineIt opens up 30 minutes before/after the park opens/closes. Probably a good idea to hit this up first before walking around all day! You can also board your furry friend here but why would you? Dogs like fun too! For about $20 a day. The same cost as like, a turkey leg and frozen banana. Which are better than a locked up pup tbh. It can be located here: and this second poop place: wow what a huge image oops sorry
and then there's this second one which has no grass, but it has a little bush shrub thing, and a tiny gate! Also a plaque and a tiny fire-hydrant, which is cool. Anyway, this poop place is in Frontier land, but honestly I'd just take my dog to the kennel out front for any serious business. Looksie, hydrant!
FF#2 An extra hour of magic you say????That's right! If you stay at the Disney California resort, you too can have an extra hour of the park all to yourself!
Or you can hide in the hedges till it closes For the main park, Disneyland, you get an extra hour of magic on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Caturdays For Disneyland California Adventure your days are Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays

Here come some fun facts about sign language, my main form of communication!
Fun Fact #1: Many people with hearing impairments communicate by using ASL, which combines hand signs, gestures, and facial expressions to create words and sentences. As many as 500,000 people in the U.S. communicate using ASL. ASL stands for American Sign Language, seeing as most people here are in the US, this would be the most close to home sign language.
Fun Fact #2 A form of ASL has been used in the U.S. for over two hundred years. Isn't that fascinating though???
Fun Fact #3 Different countries have different sign languages. ASL also has regional and dialectal differences depending on age, gender, culture, and more. There are thousands of different sign languages, approximately 6,000. So people who can't hear or speak can communicate all around the world without trouble! Though of course without those who can hear and speak learning also it means we can't communicate as well with you guys!
Fun Fact #4 Did you guys know that ASL is considered a foreign language? You can take it in colleges and such to count as your foreign language credits! ASL is also the third most common language used in the US, behind English and Spanish!
I'm sorry, I just get really excited over being able to communicate with people. I feel more normal over the internet then in person a lot, since I communicate the same as everyone here!

I'll just copy paste this to you--
"Love that you're enjoying this thread! It's awesome, but gotta follow the rules hun, share some facts~ You shared 0, I need 2! Help a brotha out! "
EXAMPLE: 1.] Potatoes are related to our little friend Belladonna--I.E. deadly nightshade! And are actually toxic if found in the wild or if one consumes to much of them. Though since most our food is processed at most you'd be shitting for a few hours LMFAO
2.] Nutmeg is actually kind of a psychedelic. Depending on the dosage of which you take you can basically experience some sort of high from it, but it takes a long time to reach and a long time to go away so probably not the most recommended way of getting high
LMFAO at those facts man--Sava why do you know so much about Disney Land?! Hahaha Do you work there or something? That's pretty tight Bumble-Bee (I'm gonna call you that), do you uh..."speak" ASL?

I actually do "speak" ASL! It's the only language I can "speak", but I'm trying to learn other languages too aside from English, which I understand of course! Do you speak any other languages? Also... Do you have any other fun facts about Disneyland, Sava? I haven't gotten the chance to go yet, but I hear it's really cool and I really want to go sometime!!
Fun Fact Jazz As many of you may know, saxophone is a distinctive part of jazz music. But what you might not know, it wasn't really used in jazz until about 1920! Prior to the use in jazz it was mainly used in orchestral and chamber performances. Fun Fact Makeup Ever been curious about who "discovered" makeup? Well, it's most commonly credited to ancient Egypt, they lined their eyes and lashes in black. However, it can also be traced back to Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and Asia! Though there doesn't seem to be a for sure, 100% promised finding of who started it all. But it doesn't really matter, it may have even been a mixture of all the different cultures joining all their different ways of makeup to create the amazing selections we have today!

# K E N O I fucking WISH I worked there. I've submitted a resume several times, and nada, zip, nothing. Sucks big time, man, it'd be great to work near all those happy people. But nah, just go there a whole lot. Like, maybe too much. But I won't stop, #YOLO #BeaBea I do I do! In fact, my next fact was gonna be a Disney one If you like happiness, and vendor treats and rides and #Fun, you should go. Definitely. We could even #Meet up for a #Disney #Group?
You both can call me #Savage, I don't mind It's in my Username after all
FF #1 - DisneyWorld's Secret Tunnels
For those of you a little further away from sun-shiny #SOCAL and a bit closer to #Florida here's a #fact that might #BlowYourMind
Below DisneyWorld, yes, below lays a series of tunnels, connecting the 'land's which employees use to get between stations. In fact, these tunnels aren't really below #DW, more like #DW is on top of the tunnels. Since Florida's a swamp and all, they couldn't really dig down so what did Walt do? He got dirt. A LOT of dirt. Eight million cubic yards, which he got from a man-made lake called Seven Seas Lagoon and the park is actually 2-3 stories above ground level, though you probably won't notice.
Why would Walt do this? He saw a cowboy from Frontierland crossing though Tomorrowland and felt it ruined the magic. #GG Cowboy
FF #2 Tink's a he???
Sometimes. Sometimes Tink is played by a male cast member, if he is short enough and under the weight limit for the zip-line during the Firework spectacle
Tempted to try and audition for #Tink now #NeverGonnaMakeIt

ROCK CANDY FACTS
Rock candy is sugar in it's purest form, and is made by adding hot water to sugar and waiting six/seven days for it to cool. During those six/seven days, the impurities are taken out -- it's one of the purest forms of sugar available. [1] Candied sugar originally came from Iran and India, and before it was given fruit flavouring it was flavoured with ambergris (from sperm whales) or flower essences. [2] The original colours were in blue and red; blue from indigo (a plant) and red from a cochineal dye made from insects.
Before cough syrups were invented, [3] pharmacists used rock candy as medicines. It was even referenced in Shakespeare's play, "Henry IV", as a throat soother for 'long winded talkers'. In the 1800s there were seven rock candy companies in the USA, who sold rock candy as soda fountain syrups, candy, and cough cold remedies. People also added it to rye whiskey to give it a "medicinal value". [4] During that time, rock candy was sold as mouth fresheners, similar to mints, and as a sweetener for coffee and tea.
some facts about candy. might share some more candy facts some other time. who knows.

Ah wow, so much interesting information you all have to share. I really enjoy reading it all and seeing the images as well. And that cat chariot was great. And ancient graffiti, it's really funny to imagine people running around in togas and painting vulgar things on important landmarks. Not that I'd do it myself but I guess it's just a funny image. Keep on sharing the info everyone and I'll keep coming back to read it. Who knows it might help me with my puzzles one day. K E N O A N T H I S I
Love that you're enjoying this thread! It's awesome, but gotta follow the rules hun, share some facts~ You shared 0, I need 2! Help a brotha out!
Example:
1. One of Dionysus' animal symbols is "Dolphins" why? I don't know, asses to, and the leopard 2. Iris has no symbol other than the rainbow, it's just unfortunate really :' (
Oh right so sorry! I guess I got a little lost in all the information I failed to share some of my own. Er let's see for facts I don't have a lot of really good information, nothing useful anyway. But I do have some handy tips for cleaning and dealing with fleas in your home. 1. Flea control If you have a bad flea infestation in your home there' s a really good way to take care of it if they've taken up residence in your carpet or upholstery. You'll need three ingredients. - Borax Detergent crystals - Good flea powder - Elbow grease That last one is just a joke but you will need to be able to give some serious 'umph' for this. You mix the two ingredients a 50/50 combination or close to it. Sprinkle it on your carpet or onto your furniture. Make sure to use it heavily around where you see the nasty critters the most or places your animals are more likely to lounge. After that just take a broom and broom your floor. Be sure to get it all good. The borax crystals will cut into the hard outer shell of adult fleas as well as into the eggs that are probably there as well. You then let this sit on the surface for about an hour to allow the powder to get the rest of the nasty things. That done all you need to do is vacuum your carpets. Not this treatment only works if you do it occasionally or frequently. Also a flea repellent on your pets is necessary for reclaiming your floor! It's all about staying ahead of your enemy. Also a hanky or face mask is a good idea while brooming your carpet. 2. Eliminating wood ring.Do you ever have trouble getting those nasty discolored rings on your nice wood furniture from cups full of beverages? Well I know of a cool tip to get rid of those nasty rings of woe. Petroleum jelly! Just rub some on the rings and allow it to sit for some time, preferably overnight. Then just rub it clean with a soft cloth and ta-dah, they magically vanish before your eyes. And that's just a little information so there you have it. But uh let me know if what I'm sharing isn't interesting I might try another topic. ^^;

Cossack men wear one, crescent silver ear-ring on their left ear if they are the only son. They wear two ear rings, if they are the only man of the family. Cossacks also believe that they all go to hell. That why they all have hairlocks ( one long streak of hair, head shaved completely otherwise ), especially when they leave home and go to war. If they die, they go to hell.. but because God loves them and they love God and God knows they killed for love, He pulls them out of hell by the hairlock. That's such a beautiful idea to have a hairlock~ What other kinds of things do they have or do for such things? It all sounds terribly interesting. _______________________ Ah uh facts lets see. There's a neat trick to getting real genuine marble like on counter tops and floors to really shine and that's chalk. Just grind it up or smash it into a fine dust. You can do so with a mallet or a mortar and pestle. Then just sprinkle the dust on the surface and use a damp cloth to rub it in. And behold the shine. It's quite brilliant. Another fun cleaning fact is you can use wine to rid your showers or any other water basins of lime scale build up. Of course you don't want to use anything expensive but a cheap variety can work wonders. I do hope I'm doing this all the proper way.

Ah I was just wondering if maybe there were other stories for such things like that. Like the earrings and the hair locks having a use and a reason rather than just there for style. It just seemed interesting and I hoped there might be more I could learn or go find myself if need be. A lot of things about my people's culture was destroyed so I tend to latch onto things like this. SO sorry if I'm being a bother.
