And just like that her small window of triumph was over. She could barely keep it up as it was, no way could she continue to act that way while dancing. Oh well, it had been fun while it lasted and honestly she'd have probably not been able to keep it up much longer anyhow. Eventually she would've cracked and that would've been even more embarrassing. Sitting back in her seat the odd persona she'd been emulating vanished and she returned to her usual, mousy self just much less frightened as she sipped her drink.
And really in hindsight, what had been thinking, flirting like that with him. After a second she decided it had been pure vengeance. It made the most sense. Glancing back to him she wondered if she could wiggle out of the dance she'd asked for. Now that she wasn't being all devious it felt a bit awkward to go through with it. Especially since she'd expected him to turn it down, not insist on a lively one anyhow.
"Oh well... okay then." Was all she said with a small smile as her gaze roamed about, pointedly looking everywhere else before finally settling on him once more. She couldn't put her finger on it but something about this whole thing felt so strange. But her logical mind had absolutely no way of processing the feeling and she couldn't even go about describing it.

It seemed Sienna was giving up on him, but not even with a little bit of fight. He shouldn't have been surprised, considering Sienna's mousy personality. Though watching her recluse from that lively and flirtatious persona was rather saddening. As off-putting as handling it was, it had been an entertaining challenge and a curious twist. The bartender almost felt badly for not agreeing to her terms. It was as thought he was taking away her fun by digressing to have things his way. It was so rare to see Sienna smile the way she did, or to see her enjoy herself. Shame on him being a party-pooper! Those were the very worst of people. It made him feel icky just thinking about it.
"Awe, don't be that way, Doll. You're so much prettier when you're being aggressive." Letting the slimy sensation crawl it's way out of his skin, the colorful man thrust his hands against his hips and huffed audibly at Sienna. "If it's a slow dance the lady wants, then....Just this once! Guess I'll just have to be fabulous without my glad rags. though you better promise it'll be fun!"

Even though it had been only moments before, Sienna's short-lived flirtatious mode felt like it had happened eons ago. Probably due to the maid wishing to distance herself form the whole thing as much as possible. She wasn't fond of feeling that way and so what better way to get past it than to forget is as quickly as possible. It wasn't like she'd need that fake version of herself anyhow. Of course the moment she said that Maxwell decided to have a change of heart.
Still sipping out of her glass she slowly turned to look at him with wide eyes. He WHAT?! The last gulp of her drink had just been inhaled and she swallowed the lump in her throat along with it. Properly flustered by the earlier compliment as well she tried to regain some of her composure which had just been whisked of to some unknown place. It wasn't like she hadn't heard that same line, but her earlier actions just made everything a million times more embarrassing. "Ah um no It's okay. " She said shaking her head in a nervous manner. Getting swung around by the fool was one thing but slow dancing. Goodness no! "I was just cold and now I'm not so no need to dance. All better." LAME, so lame. But she was completely caught off guard by his sudden acceptance. The tables had been turned and not in her favor. The little imp now had all the dice, as usual.

"No?" He pinned the young woman with a pointed little smile, clearly seeing right through her lies. The evasiveness of he eyes and the soft hue of her cheeks were obvious clues she was flustered, considering he'd given her no liquor--even despite his temptation to slip her a fouled glass of giggle water. Though why she'd taken this abashed turn he'd yet to understand. Had he embarrassed her somehow?
She was always a good laugh when she turned a cheek so fast; the man couldn't help but chuckle and shake a chastising finger at her as he leaned across the bar with a coy grin that mirrored her previous expressions. "Are you falling for me? You shouldn't do that. you could get hurt if you fell too hard--"
A delayed wink whisked across his eye as he climbed up on the bar, Swinging his feet over to rest on the stool besides Sienna. "Now, now, don't go getting your feet cold. You'll catch cold! Sides, I thought we were just getting ready to have some fun! Come on, Doll, don't leave me hanging by a ........ a heart string?"

Ugh, she hated him. That stupid smile. She remembered being revolted the first time they'd met. And while that feeling still surfaced occasionally she mostly had a hard time deciphering how she honestly felt around him anymore. It was a little aggravating. Regardless though she cupped her hands around the bottom half of her face in some sad attempt to hide her flushed cheeks. There was nowhere to run. They were on an island in a sea of potential enemies and if he tried to wiggled away it might cause a disturbance and they'd be in trouble. She was stuck here with the little freak.
His wagging finger was met with narrowed eyes and she held her ground as he leaned forward to smile coyly at her. Only when he spoke though did she react, WHAT?! "F-f-fall, for you?!" No way, not a chance. Absolutely ridiculous! She wiggled back away from him, and huffed at his threat. "N-no need to worry. I'd sooner f-fall for a hamster!" She stuttered out under her breath as she did a terrible job of hiding her face. And then to make everything that much worse he winked and then proceeded to climb up and join her on a seat on the other side.
"Wha, what are you doing?!" She gasped looking horrified and even more flustered as eh crossed the only barrier she'd had to encroach on her personal space further. And now he was still pestering her for that dance she'd brazenly asked for. A heart string, she was going to leave him hanging from some string by his neck if her own heart survived this. "Ah uh well." She started, trying to grasp some of her sanity and take a hold of this situation somehow. It was then she realized that some of the people in the area were looking their way. Ah no, she'd gotten so wrapped up in him she'd not been paying attention properly. She didn't want to cause a scene and he had just plopped his self on the counter. She promised he knew just what to do to goad her into uncomfortable situations. Devious little imp.
"F-fine okay just get down." She pleaded, tugging on the end of his jacket in an effort to get him down faster. Whatever the fabric was felt nice between her fingers so she tried to concentrate on that rather than the impending romp around the dance floor she was now unable to get out of.

Whatever attempts she should make to blend into the scene unnoticed were all for nothing. the man was keen to be center of attention no matter the situation. As she tugged at his coat, he thrust a victorious little fist into the air with an equally victorious bellow! "WHOOPEE! See ya round fella's! AHM goin' DANCING!", He'd yell for the whole bar, and more, to hear. There were a few confused looks as their Bartender simply strolled away, but little could be helped for it. he simply hopped down from his perch and skipped away.
He didn't venture far without Sienna, though. A few strides and he whirled around, stopping himself long enough stoop to a polite and flamboyant little bow. His hand extended towards Sienna with invitation. "Shall we~?"

If Sienna hadn't died already sure his loud proclamation would have dropped her on the spot. Why so loud?! The urge and the desire to leap up and strangle him was great. Thankfully she was still well aware of the numerous eyes on them and she was able to keep that in check. She just did not understand how he made her so crazy! He hopped down and skipped away leaving for only a moment before bowing in what she'd call an over indulgent fashion and held a hand out to her. Shall we... ugh what had she been thinking.
It wasn't like she could say no at this point. He'd insist and be persistent. It was best to just go along with his erratic flow of things and hope people went back to their own things and didn't look too hard. Not like she was the most memorable apprentice anyhow. Begrudgingly she walked the few steps to meet him and grasped his hand. "Please.. don't do anything too stupid. I'd like to go home tonight. The Both of us. Preferably ALIVE." Was all she said. and even that probably wouldn't help her. Maybe she could convince him to help her out of this place. Which would be the most ideal option. But then she'd just spend the rest of the time eh was gone worrying so either way she was losing.

"Everything I do is only the most well thought out figment of ingenuity! You are in safe hands, Sisi." With a loud giggle and an even louder 'mwah', the man kissed her dainty fingers and lured her insistently out to the open floor. Few were dancing anymore, but the music was still lively. Not as lively as the colorful little imp preferred, but it was a beat to bounce, and Maxwell thoroughly intended to give Sienna a time worth enjoying.
"It really is funny seeing you here. You should tell me about the meanie head that stood you up. I can tell them what for, if you like!" Turning himself about to face his team mate, Maxwell stepped in flush against Sienna's side and laid his hand securely against her back. This was perhaps the closest they'd physically been in a long time, which he found to be quite entertaining considering Sienna's disdain for him. Though he'd smile in the face of malice and laugh at it as he take the lead, albeit awkwardly. His fast feet being a little less used to slowing down than he would ever admit.

Sienna's eyes narrowed at his admission and her name being said. And so he knew. She'd always expected he was far more crafty than he'd ever let on. And she'd been watching him. Not like she'd had a choice really and the more time she spent with him the more there was to him. It was annoying and aggravating but also devastatingly intriguing. And all at once. And this,,, whatever this spy mission was only added another level to her rainbow nerd.
His loud rapport continued as he nosily kissed her hand to which she wrinkled her nose up in disgust. Little freak. Although her face lacked the intense malice it usually did. Not that she was aware of this of course and just looked apprehensive, annoyed and maybe just a little pleased as she was pulled onto the dance floor. While she was still worried about the enemy she hoped his silly antics might divert attention rather than draw it to them. It was possible maybe, but only if she didn't look so stiff and unwilling. That would draw more attention on a dance floor than someone's wild actions.
He spoke again and she had to agree. It was a huge surprise she was here. Himself included. The question of why he was here, practically undercover was another story she'd have to needle out of him later. Providing they lived. The rest of his comment caught her a bit by surprise. Though that might have been because of how close he was. The maid was the most touchless thing. Being in such close quarters always bothered her. Usually she'd have just hissed at him or shoved him away. But she'd just agreed to not be her usual fussy self. So she managed to not do that even as his arm secured a place around her from behind. Which really just remembering their prior conversation and the flirting made her cheeks heat up a bit. And suddenly this dance was a million times more flustering. It totally made no sense to her rational mind but her body reacted all the same and she was finding her usual disgust was intermingled with something she wasn't comfortable even thinking about.
So she diverted her attention to the conversation. "N-no one stood me up. I was just waiting on my friends who went to that room and I didn't want to go." She replied win a hushed tone, unable to completely mask the tremor in her voice. He'd notice of course, he noticed everything. It was annoying. He was annoying.

"That's good! My Sisi is much too sweet for a Flakey Jake." Instead of just turning his head to see what room she meant, Maxwell turned them completely around with a sudden little whirl. Perhaps a bit faster than should be proper for a their little dance. His toes were itching for a spin and every step was faster than the last. He almost tripped over his own feet trying to contain himself.
When he spied the curtained passage, Maxwell wrinkled his nose and giggled curtly. "The Stink Room. I don't suggest it." He stuck out his tongue, biting it with a smile. "It smells like burnt chicken and flowers, and the smoke makes me sleepy. You might not see them for a while. That just means we'll have more time to play, though!"

Sienna was surprised at the sudden whirl causing her to latch onto Maxwell from fear of being flung away. Crazy little imp. Once she got her bearings though she pulled back some shooting him a look but said nothing as he explained the curtained room her friends had wandered to. well she'd rather they'd come out now so she could go home. She'd had a little bit of fun already there was no need to over stay her welcome was there?
"So... would you mind dancing me to the exit?" She asked hesitantly. She knew he'd sooner spin her around the floor all evening but she'd come expecting to find plants and maybe some civil company. Not a party filled with enemies and her own teammate manning the bar in disguise. It was a little more excitement than she was willing to endure. Now whether he did as she asked was the real question. He could very well spin her around as he pleased and there wasn't much she could do about it.
"Please?" She added hopefully. "We can always dance another time. When there's no one who might murder us. And you can even dress like this again. I mean I like it so it's on you I guess." She glanced away after that looking a little flustered at having admitted that last part but turned back to wait for a response.

"Awe, leaving already? You should stick around. I'll make you another yummy Flamingo if you do." His stride nearly came to a dead stop, perhaps in a physical defiance of her desire to leave. If he danced even slower, she had to stay longer! though it was hard to deny her when she asked him so nicely. How often did Sienna ever say 'please' to him? Probably a lot, but who was counting, really?
Stopping altogether, Maxwell heaved a long and exaggerated sigh that weighed his shoulder like a goopy slime monster with no bones. "Oooooooh, okaaaaay, since you asked sooooooo nicely. You have to mean it, though! And I get to pick the next date! No matter what! No matter WHEN! You'll be all mine for a day and we'll have such dandy fun. Promise?" His smile tightened into a thin line across his jaw, making him appear much like a scheming feline.

Yes she wanted to leave, not necessarily because of him but more fro her poor nerves. She'd not been mentally prepared fof this madness she'd unknowingly walked into. Maybe.. maybe had she known.. no. Had she known she wouldn't have come. She was surprised though as he nearly ceased all movement at her soft pleas to escape the place. She'd thought he'd kick up more of a fuss. How strange...
Her thoughts on the matter were silenced once he stopped altogether though and couldn't help but smile at his over dramatic whine of agreement. Her head started to nod as he said she had to mean it. Of course she meant it. it would be rude to promise something and not go through with it. But his choice of words made her cheeks flush in angry embarrassment. "What? D-d-date? T-this isn't a date!" She hissed around her nervous stutter, remembering to lower her voice some. "And all day? What about my chores and duties. I have to do my fair share you know." Her arguments were sadly not very convincing, not even to herself. She was like an alternate universe Cinderella who got dragged to the ball when she wanted to stay home and clean. It was as ridiculous an idea as it sounded. How had the promise to dance turned into a date?! Also that look on his face... she'd seen that look before... and she didn't trust it.

He'd all but giggle at her madden flare, so fond of that angry streak she hid so well. "Isn't it, though? Could have fooled me with all that brazen flirting. To think, I forgot my camera." He turned with a cackle, musing the joys of poking Sisi like a hissing flame. Oh, how he loved when she puffed up and burst. Though for all his joys in tormenting the young woman, he did agree to show her out. And she did promise to save him a proper 'play-date'. So as his cackles dimmed into a quiet thrum of giggles, Maxwell drew Sienna in close once more. A strange bout of gentleness touching his smile as his feet found their grace and guided his companion across the floor and across the room. "You should have worn your better dress. The one with the flowers. They seem almost alive when you twirl around--like a pretty red garden dancing with the wind!" He smiled enthusiastically, perhaps thinking himself quite witty. "I want you to wear that dress when we go out and play next. It suits you the best--it does it does."

Sienna’s blush flared up again as he mentioned that flirting. It was a bit harder to deny that really. She’d never done anything like that before… but it had been fun in an odd way. It wasn’t something she wanted to think on much though. But he had acted strangely when she had returned the treatment he’d invited on her first. Something she’d ponder on at a later date probably.
His annoying laughter toned down into a light giggle and she simply rolled her eyes. He wasn’t going to accept anything but an entire day so it was silly to even try and convince him otherwise. Of course it was always easier to give in when he wasn’t dancing about erratically with her in tow. She didn’t even seem to mind being so close this time around
The much calmer gait he’d taken up had settled her nerves. No matter how often he infuriated her he never left her that way. He’d shown up when she’d been left behind, distracted her from her worries and was now guiding her to a safe retreat. The comments about that dress pulled another shy grin out of the maid who had to bite on her lip to keep from smiling too wide. She really wasn’t used to anyone paying attention to her in any detail and she was finding she didn’t mind it from him so much, occasionally.
“I thought I was coming to look at plants, not dance but....okay.” She agreed with a sigh. She was amused at his colorful description of the dress but did pose a question. “Won’t you get tired of seeing the same thing all the time?” He seemed the type to hate repetition so it was funny to her that he was fixated on that particular outfit. He’d asked for it before and was asking for it again now. Not that she minded of course. But still, it was odd.
